WHAT CHRIST DID
Isaiah 53:4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. There is a song that goes thus: "When I remember His kindness, I shout halleluyah." The coming of the messiah brought us so much victory and when we read passages like Isaiah 53, we are reminded of the sacrifice and the glory. * He was wounded/pierced that we do not have to be wounded for our rebellion. * He was bruised/crushed that we would not keep the scars of our sin/iniquity. * We enjoy peace from what He suffered. * We received healing by each stripe of the whip He received on our behalf. Isaiah 53:5 But he [was] wounded for our transgressions, [he was] bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace [was] upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. The Messiah carried the sin we were born with and all that we committed or will ever commit on Himself that we would not be damned. Isaiah 53:6 All we like sheep have gone astray; ...
