Are You a Good Soil?

Matthew 13:23

But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth [it]; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

The parable of the sower is a  deep insight Christ gave into what happens to man when he interacts with the word of God.

Christ said this parable was the key to understanding other parables. Selah

Mark 4:13
Then Jesus said to them, “If you can’t understand the meaning of this parable, how will you understand all the other parables?

It answers some questions we ask today, such as:

* Why do we have so many churches, yet people still sin against God.

* Why do we have so many supposed spiritual programmes, yet the communities and nation at large are not positively impacted?

* Where is the power of old that the apostles and disciples displayed?

* Why does it seems as if God is so far away from us?

etc . . .

It is because of the soil, which is our heart.

There is nothing wrong with the seed. The seed is always good.

Mark 4:14
The farmer plants seed by taking God’s word to others.

What do we have today? We have pretend farmers, who are not there for God but to line their pocket with that of mammon, satisfy ego, or boost their pride. Some even sow tares instead of seeds!

People don't want to grow in the knowledge and love of God. They just want miracles, signs and wonders, money etc. Therefore they would keep being fleeced and deceived by the pretend farmers.

The true word of God is ever available but many avoid it or when they hear they don't allow the word die into their soil (heart) just as Christ described in His parable.

John 12:24
I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat is planted in the soil and dies, it remains alone. But its death will produce many new kernels—a plentiful harvest of new lives.

Jesus described from the old testament what some people's problem are:

Matthew 15:8 NLT
‘These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.

If we are of God, our life must show it, by the daily obedience to His Word.

Luke 6:46
"But why do you call Me 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do the things which I say?

The only way to know His word is by studying them, then the Holy Spirit keeps reminding us of them.

John 14:26
"But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

We should remember that whom we obey is who is Lord over us

Romans 6:16
Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one's slaves whom you obey, whether of sin to death, or of obedience to righteousness.

So is the word of God richly dwelling in you, or have you lost it on the way side, been deprived of it by the worries and care of this world, or your heart is not sincere, filled with the cares of the world and deceit that caused you to lose it?

It is not late, today is the day of salvation, come back to God.

Do not trade the temporary for the eternal.

His arms are open wide to take you on that righteous path again. Come back to the righteous path.

Here we are Lord, we walk Your path.

Help us Good Lord.

May our lives reflect Jesus the Christ whom we obey.

Prayer:
Loving Father, I am in Christ, therefore my life will reflect Christ. Help me Lord to grow in the knowledge and love of You day after day. I love You Lord. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.

He calls us blessed.

Love
