HOW TO WAIT
Habakkuk 2:3b
If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed.
Have you prayed, maybe fasted, cried, wailed and it seems God is not interested in your situation. You are not the only one, all believers have passed through that.
Listen:
God is interested it may just be that there is a timing!
There is this tendency to feel that it doesn't bother God. You may even find your counterparts and even those who are yet to be saved getting it easy.
Yet my brethren, you must learn to wait!
Will it be easy? No. Yet you must wait.
Waiting on the Lord works out our patience and proves our obedience.
Micah 7:7
"Therefore I will look to the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me."
Lamentations 3:26
"It is good that one should hope and wait quietly for the salvation of the LORD"
James 1:4
But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
The wait period is important for all believers. One thing you must have when you walk with God is patience and this is the character of the Spirit.
Galatians 5:22
But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
This character of the Spirit is not just theory it is there to enable you work with God and also relate well with man. That is why gift without character will lead to abuse. Selah.
Now understand that ...
"while you are expecting blessings or promotion, keep enjoying and rejoicing in the one you have already, giving thanks."
Remember it is those who wait on the Lord that renew their strength.
Isaiah 40:31
But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.
Seeking for alternatives will in the long term bring bitterness and regret.
Be careful whose advice and suggestions you listen to.
It is in the waiting times that evil suggestions come your way.
The scriptures gives us mistakes made by our fathers in their waiting period.
* Abraham went in to Haggai
* Aaron built a golden calf for the children of Israel to worship
* King Saul went ahead to make the sacrifice alone
* Judas dipped his hand in the offering bag, he later went ahead to betray the Lord
* Rehoboam listened to the youth of his age instead of the elders and the Lord, he lost the ten tribes.
the list goes on and on and the result on each occasion was regret.
While waiting:
* keep busy getting to know God better, study His word.
* join in reaching those who don't have what you have.
* evangelise, tell people about the love of God in Jesus.
* continue in prayer.
* make it a habit to thank God for what you have already.
* meditate.
* do the work committed to you with all joy and dedication.
Make good your waiting period!
Let us learn to wait.
May joy fill you today. I see you smiling and rejoicing from your inner man.
Glory to God.
PRAYER
Loving Father I know You will not keep me waiting for long, You hasten to bless and help me. In my waiting period help me keep the right attitude and character, knowing that it won't be long before my joy is complete. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.
He calls us blessed.
Love
@the watcher.
