BELIEVE, DON'T GIVE UP

Philippians 1:6

And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.


The believer does not become "perfect" immediately at the new birth. Yes He is given a new beginning and relocated spiritually but we physically remain here on earth and will still face the earthly challenges and even temptations.


It is then for us to grow in the knowledge and love of God becoming better day after day as we walk with Him.


2 Peter 3:18
Rather, you must grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.All glory to him, both now and forever! Amen.


The same with situations we find ourselves in, maybe we are not happy with:

* the job we have now, or not having a job at all
* the spouse we have
* not having children yet
* the way we look
* where we live
* our current financial state
* our current spiritual state
* the family we find ourselves in
* where we originate from
* current state of health
* our children
* our pasts
* our siblings
* losing someone we love
* our result
* our superiors
* our subordinates
the list goes on and on.


Sometimes it could be as little as not being happy with the car we currently drive or extremely unhappy with the country we live in.


There is a message for us today!


Luke 19:5
And when Jesus came to the place, He looked up and saw him, and said to him, "Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house."


This was a man who definitely was not happy with the way he was, it was recorded that he was very short.


Luke 19:3
And he sought to see who Jesus was, but could not because of the crowd, for he was of short stature.


He was a man who needed companionship because he was not a friend to the people.


Luke 19:7
But when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, "He has gone to be a guest with a man who is a sinner."


Obviously this man's joy came after his encounter with Jesus!


If you have encountered Jesus, if you have received the Spirit of God in you.
You are not taken out of this world yet. So surely you will encounter challenges, you will be conscious of physical things. You could also feel pain and be tempted to be depressed.


This morning God wants to remind you that, that issue will work for your good.


Romans 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.


Job who suffered so much for no fault of his after the tests confessed.


Job 42:2
"I know that You can do everything, and that no purpose of Yours can be withheld from You.


The bible says:

1Peter 5:10
But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you


I SEE GOD SETTLING YOU THIS YEAR (remember though that God is not limited by time or space!)


Don't lose hope, don't give in to depression . . . HAVE FAITH.


Show it as you rejoice today.


He has never failed and He will not fail with You, stay with Him.


Help us Good Lord.


PRAYER
Loving Father my trust in You is without borders I depend on You for You are my everything. You are my way maker, miracle worker, promise keeper and You brought me out of darkness into Your marvelous light. I get better day after day. Glory to You Lord.


He calls us blessed.

DO UNTO OTHERS . . .

Matthew 7:12 "Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets. It is hypocritical of us to expect people to stand with us when we are experiencing challenges yet when we see others face their own challenges, we begin to imagine what they must have done wrong or maybe they annoyed God or did one evil or the other instead of reaching out to help as we would desire others to do for us. The same thing goes for prosperity, when the Lord opens a door for us and we have abundance of wealth or a breakthrough we expect others to rejoice with us, more so, some would even find it hard to give to others. What is our reaction when someone else gets this breakthrough, do we get suddenly suspicious without reason. Do we expect the person to reach out to us?
