HAVE YOU DONE YOUR PART?
Matthew 25:23
“The master said, ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!’
I have discovered that those who complain most of the time are those who have not done their part!
Before you complain about your spouse on how unloving they are, how they have not shown this or done that, ask yourself - WHAT HAVE YOU DONE? Have you done your part?
Before you complain of that boss, that leader or even your parents, or children, ask yourself, HAVE YOU DONE YOUR PART?
It is easy to point fingers, play the victim or apportion blames but wait, how are you sure you are NOT the one at fault. Have you evaluated yourself.
Are you a good . . .
* husband
* wife
* parent
* child
* employee
* employer
* leader
* follower
* friend
etc.
Have you actually done your part well?
A phrase from a maxim of equity reads:
"he who comes to equity must come with clean hands"
Jesus taught us this:
Matthew 7:2-3,5
For you will be treated as you treat others. The standard you use in judging is the standard by which you will be judged.
“And why worry about a speck in your friend’s eye when you have a log in your own?
Hypocrite! First get rid of the log in your own eye; then you will see well enough to deal with the speck in your friend’s eye.
Before you condemn your spouse, ask yourself, what relevance are you to them, how have you made their life better? Would they not have been better off without you?
Before you condemn your employer or leader, ask yourself, what impact have you made or what benefit have you been to the organisation. Have you even done your duties or is your role delivering its purpose?
Before you condemn your employee, how well have you taken care of them, have you met your own side of the contract, are they safe working with you?
We are always so quick to play the victim, however if we sit back and reflect, we may find that we are actually the villain.
What do you say about that person to others, what thought do you allow in your mind? Are you truly committed or are in only for what you can get?
Do we lie to yourself! (This is the main issue)
We do the same with God!
We want Him to do everything for us but we offer nothing, we are not faithful.
So I ask again, as we start a new month, which takes us into the last month of the year:
Have you done your part?
Are you doing your part?
It is not too late.
Begin NOW!
Help us Good Lord.
PRAYER
Loving Father, have mercy, forgive our continual failure, make it stop and help us to be faithful to You in all things. Help us to be faithful in our relationships, that we do our part. O Lord we can be, we will be by Your power. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.
He calls us blessed.
Love
@the watcher.
