TRUE GIVING
2Corinthians 9:8
And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, have an abundance for every good work.
2Corinthians 8:2
that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded in the riches of their liberality.
It is easy to reach out when all is well with you. For in a multitude of wealth to give little may not be difficult.(although some still find it hard to give).
However the true test of giving is when you give out of a little. I am not talking about those giving when they are manipulated by a supposed minister to become wealthy or when you are blackmailed with fear of losing heaven to make you give. No, those have nothing to do with God!
I remember the event in scriptures when many gave, yet Jesus recognised only the widow who gave so little but it was all she had.
Mark 12:42-44
Then one poor widow came and threw in two mites, which make a quadrans.
So He called His disciples to Him and said to them, "Assuredly, I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all those who have given to the treasury;
"for they all put in out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all that she had, her whole livelihood."
I have come to understand that there is no human who has nothing to offer. No one.
No matter your situation, you are a solution to someone, just the same way someone else is a solution to you.
We ought to see ourselves as the solution not a problem.
Acts 20:35
"I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.' "
Stop being the one reached out to all the time instead, begin to reach out to others.
Matthew 5:14
"You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.
Matthew 5:13
"You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled under foot by men.
YOU HAVE SOMETHING GOOD TO OFFER.
It is not always about money.
This is one problem we have in church gatherings, the fact that a brethren doesn't have so much money to give doesn't make them irrelevant or less than those who give much. No. They have something else to give which may be very much more than money. Selah
It is irritating and shameful when believers, especially those who are supposed to be spiritual leaders reduce God's kingdom to money and material things, it is blasphemous!
Listen, we must all be financially committed to our local assembly, however we must not make mammon Lord of our fellowship.
We are blessed to bless, we give and we receive, thus we fellowship in love.
No one is lazy, no one is proud, but the love of God fill out hearts.
O help us Good Lord.
May God give us understanding.
PRAYER
Loving Father thank you because You have made me the answer to someone's prayer. I bless others and others do bless me. It is a fellowship. My light will keep shining and my salt will remain tasty. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.
He calls us blessed.
Love
