FAITH: THE POWER TO OVERCOME

1John 5:4

Anything which comes from God is able to overcome the world: and the power by which we have overcome the world is our faith.


When we are faced with the challenges and pressures of life, our first reaction is to be worried. The "how", "why" and "what" questions come up in our mind.


Christ asks us again what those worries do for us, the answer is nothing. So we must not dwell in worry we must convert it to prayers. We call forth His promises.


Luke 12:25-26

Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?

And if worry can’t accomplish a little thing like that, what’s the use of worrying over bigger things?


It takes a conscious effort to remember Him who can take care of all things, Him in whom we trust. Although He has promises for all situations as recorded in His word, it is one thing to know of them and another to recall them when the need arises.


2 Corinthians 1:20

For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to God for his glory.


That is why the bible says we must walk by faith.


1John 5:4

For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world--our faith.


Faith is a consciousness, it is the way of life of the believer. Trusting God in all things, some already set in motion, some needed to be called into being.


Romans 4:17

(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, [even] God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were


There are things already done and there are things that have to be called to be. Faith brings them to be, of course our God is faithful.


1Thessalonians 5:24

Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it


So as we begin a new week, we trust God that we will succeed again in all that we do.


Glory to God.


Let us keep the faith alive.


PRAYER

Loving Father, help us to be conscious of our victory. Help us treat others right and to trust You completely knowing that You have given us all the victory in Christ Jesus. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.


He calls us blessed.

DO UNTO OTHERS . . .

Matthew 7:12 "Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets. It is hypocritical of us to expect people to stand with us when we are experiencing challenges yet when we see others face their own challenges, we begin to imagine what they must have done wrong or maybe they annoyed God or did one evil or the other instead of reaching out to help as we would desire others to do for us. The same thing goes for prosperity, when the Lord opens a door for us and we have abundance of wealth or a breakthrough we expect others to rejoice with us, more so, some would even find it hard to give to others. What is our reaction when someone else gets this breakthrough, do we get suddenly suspicious without reason. Do we expect the person to reach out to us? MY YEAR OF FULFILMENT

Psalms 57:2 I cry out to God Most High, to God who will fulfill his purpose for me. We just finished the book of 1Samuel, in this book we see the cry of Israel for a king and how God raised Saul to rule them. We also saw how Saul disobeyed God and lost kingship for himself and his generation. He did not stop there, he went on to seek for the death of David, whom he saw as the next heir of the throne. In chapter 31, the last chapter, we see how Saul and all his sons and men were killed, it was tragic, however it was as a sign of relief for David. We could go on counting all the struggles and difficulties we faced in the past year. No, we should not, we should begin to look at all the positives, remembering all the good things God has done for us. If He promised it, He will do it and that is what we hold onto as we go through this year.
