THE ENEMY'S BARGAIN

1John 5:21

Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.


1Corinthians 10:14

Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.


There is always something you consciously or unconsciously hold on to and if you are not careful it could be used as a bargaining power against you.


Never let anything be your idol.


Christ asked: "What will you sacrifice for your soul?"


Mark 8:37

"Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?


Search yourself, find the idols and then un-idolize it, nothing is so important, remember there was a time you didn't have it.


We have seen people sacrifice parts of themselves for wealth now it tastes as gravel in their mouth, while some are either dead or a living dead.


In all, the bargain had never been worthwhile.


The bible says:


1John 2:16

For all that is in the world--the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life--is not of the Father but is of the world.


1John 2:17

And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.


It is terrible if that which one holds on to so much, is just a material possession.


It could be a loved one, a position, or a possession. What do you do if that one thing is taken away from you?


May we never have reason to make anyone, person or thing replace God in our life.


May all we do please our Heavenly Father.


May we not be carried away with that which will pass away.


May we have eternal investments and heavenly rewards.


We are blessed, and God has promised that no sorrow would be added with it.


Proverbs 10:22

The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it


Halleluyah!


PRAYER

Loving Father, I love You, let nothing ever take Your place in my life. The enemy has no bargaining power over me. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.


He calls us blessed.

DO UNTO OTHERS . . .

Matthew 7:12 "Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets. It is hypocritical of us to expect people to stand with us when we are experiencing challenges yet when we see others face their own challenges, we begin to imagine what they must have done wrong or maybe they annoyed God or did one evil or the other instead of reaching out to help as we would desire others to do for us. The same thing goes for prosperity, when the Lord opens a door for us and we have abundance of wealth or a breakthrough we expect others to rejoice with us, more so, some would even find it hard to give to others. What is our reaction when someone else gets this breakthrough, do we get suddenly suspicious without reason. Do we expect the person to reach out to us? MY YEAR OF FULFILMENT

Psalms 57:2 I cry out to God Most High, to God who will fulfill his purpose for me. We just finished the book of 1Samuel, in this book we see the cry of Israel for a king and how God raised Saul to rule them. We also saw how Saul disobeyed God and lost kingship for himself and his generation. He did not stop there, he went on to seek for the death of David, whom he saw as the next heir of the throne. In chapter 31, the last chapter, we see how Saul and all his sons and men were killed, it was tragic, however it was as a sign of relief for David. We could go on counting all the struggles and difficulties we faced in the past year. No, we should not, we should begin to look at all the positives, remembering all the good things God has done for us. If He promised it, He will do it and that is what we hold onto as we go through this year.
