GOD FOR EVERYONE
2 Chronicles 6:32-33
“In the future, foreigners who do not belong to your people Israel will hear of you. They will come from distant lands when they hear of your great name and your strong hand and your powerful arm. And when they pray toward this Temple,
then hear from heaven where you live, and grant what they ask of you. In this way, all the people of the earth will come to know and fear you, just as your own people Israel do. They, too, will know that this Temple I have built honors your name.
At the time of Solomon, the children of Israel were the only nation that had access to God, they were the chosen ones through the promise of God to Abraham.
However, Israel was not the target of God's love alone, the whole world was. However, for that time and season it ought to begin with one man then it became a nation - Israel and later the whole world.
Solomon seemed to understand this and that was why He prayed the prayer that he did at the completion of building the temple. (our opening verses).
Some who argue salvation especially some religious people try to restrict Christ's coming to the Jews alone. They cite different instances where it seemed that Christ was more favourable to the Jews than to other nations.
Is this true?
No.
That it starts from you does not mean it is about you alone. Yes the salvation message started from the Jews but it was not for the Jews alone, it was for the whole world.
Let us hear Christ:
Luke 4:18-19
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free, and that the time of the Lord’s favor has come.”
There is no limitation in this statement, you note also that His own people in this town rejected Him.
Let us hear His instructions to the disciples:
Mark 16:15-16,20
And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.
Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. But anyone who refuses to believe will be condemned.
And the disciples went everywhere and preached, and the Lord worked through them, confirming what they said by many miraculous signs.
And again we see His final instructions before ascension:
Acts 1:8
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
It is clear that God is for everyone and His salvation in His Word, Christ Jesus, is for the whole world, no one is exempted.
The apostles later on made it clearer to us.
Galatians 3:27-29
And all who have been united with Christ in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes.
There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus.
And now that you belong to Christ, you are the true children of Abraham. You are his heirs, and God’s promise to Abraham belongs to you.
Also,
Titus 2:11
For the grace of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people.
Then,
John 1:11-13
He came to his own people, and even they rejected him.
But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.
They are reborn—not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God.
So He is God of all, no one is left out, no matter where you are from, what your lineage is, what religion you have or had, what you have done or not done. God is for all, it lies on you to accept Him.
Revelation 3:20
“Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.
Are you yet to come? Come today.
Is there anyone around you yet to come, invite them today, while you keep praying for them.
God is glorified forevermore.
PRAYER
Loving Father thank You for Your salvation. Thank You Lord for reaching out to the whole world that all will be saved and enjoy eternal bliss with You which is Your original plan. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.
He calls us blessed.
Love
@the watcher.
