THE CONDITION

1 Chronicles 28:7-8

And if he continues to obey my commands and regulations as he does now, I will make his kingdom last forever.’

“So now, with God as our witness, and in the sight of all Israel—the Lord’s assembly—I give you this charge. Be careful to obey all the commands of the Lord your God, so that you may continue to possess this good land and leave it to your children as a permanent inheritance.

From the beginning of the creation of man we observe that man had been blessed. However, note that there has always been a condition.

Genesis 2:16-17

But the Lord God warned him, “You may freely eat the fruit of every tree in the garden—

except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. If you eat its fruit, you are sure to die.”

The condition has always been there, it is because man was created with free will, that is, we have the power of choice and reason.

As long as we stay in obedience we are assured of the fulfilment of God's promises in our lives, however, when we walk in disobedience we create the opportunity for other things to have influence.

God promised David that his generation would sit on the throne, but the condition was that they walk in obedience, we see the error of Solomon later on and that of his son, they decided to walk in disobedience so they lost that privilege causing a disruption in the lineage's right on the throne.

We learn from these as believers and do not take our salvation for granted. We cannot afford to walk in disobedience and expect to enjoy all of God's promises. No. When we place ourselves just as those who do not know God and maybe worse we shouldn't complain when we have to contend with things that Christ has already settled for us. Selah.

We must understand the conditions, for even life itself naturally works with conditions:

* if you refuse to work you should not eat (the scriptures teach this also)

* if you are careless with your body, then you are liable to fall ill

* if you continue to think evil thoughts, evil would soon consume you

* if you neglect spiritual exercises such as prayers, study of the word, true worship and fellowship your faith would keep dwindling.

In the same way if you:

* walk in obedience you are sure and are entitled to God's promises

* take care of your health and remove bad habits or lifestyles, you avoid illness

* walk in love with all, you have peace of mind and enjoy God's love

* continue in prayer, study of the word, true worship and fellowship, then your faith grows higher and higher and you continually enjoy God's presence.

The choice is yours!

Help us Good Lord.

PRAYER

Loving Father may I always be on the right side of Your promises, keeping Your conditions that I will continue to prosper and increase in all good things. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.

He calls us blessed.
