DO YOU LOVE PEACE?

Matthew 5:9

God blesses those who work for peace, for they will be called the children of God.


Are you happy when there is peace or have you gotten so used to discord that it is strange to you that there is a level of peace. Then you need help!


As we have been looking through the beatitudes for some days now, have you noticed that the nature of God's Spirit is expressed?


For every believer God's Spirit is supposed to be indwelling in us:


John 14:17

He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you.


The Holy Spirit living in every believer is not theoretical but practical. An evidenced truth, you are supposed to hear Him and let Him lead you.


Ask yourself, if God's Spirit is truly in me, would I be living the way I am?


Will I be doing the things I have been doing over the years?


Will I speaking whether in open or private the way I have been doing?


We really need to ask ourselves these questions because, it is absurd that a supposed believer is in a place of authority, or has been giving a duty to carry out and they fail. It shouldn't be so.


Listen to the testimony of someone who lived even before Christ came, before God's Spirit was fully revealed to man:


Daniel 6:4

Then the other administrators and high officers began searching for some fault in the way Daniel was handling government affairs, but they couldn’t find anything to criticize or condemn. He was faithful, always responsible, and completely trustworthy.


Can we say that of those who profess to know God today?


So talking of peace, are you a lover of peace, or you get excited when you hear there is conflict. Then you really need to be delivered. God's Spirit has no hold over you.


Listen to what Jesus left for us when He was physically leaving he earth:


John 14:27

“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.


So how can you say you are of Christ and you do not love peace, make peace or promote peace. Then you cannot say you are of God.


You say I have tried but I am just getting it wrong. What you need to do is to begin to seek God with all your heart then His peace will fill you, just as the prophet recorded:


Isaiah 26:3

You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!


If you have been causing chaos and conflict, it is time to repent.


The wise man recorded the things God hates:


Proverbs 6:19

a false witness who pours out lies, a person who sows discord in a family.


Are you truly of God? Then you would love peace and always work for peace.


Philippians 4:7

Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.


Lord heal Your church.


PRAYER

Loving Father may Your peace fill our heart and mind may we also be filled with the knowledge and love of You. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.


He calls us blessed.

Remember: God is in control.

As we go through the 11th month of this year of accomplishment, let us be reminded. When it seems to hurt so much, or it all looks quiet and alone, when it appears not to work out.
