DO YOU DO GOOD?

Matthew 5:16

In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.


Do you do Good?


Quite a simple question, you might say, but think of it and your answer may not be that simple. You could quickly think of one person or the other you may have hurt, that lie, that discord that originated from you or you helped fan.


What is Good?


Christ replied a man who called Him good.


Mark 10:17-18

As Jesus was starting out on his way to Jerusalem, a man came running up to him, knelt down, and asked, “Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”

“Why do you call me good?” Jesus asked. “Only God is truly good.


The question was like saying, you call me God. Funny enough He was actually God but walking in humility.


Philippians 2:6

Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to.


So was Jesus actually Good?


Acts 10:38

And you know that God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. Then Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.


The evidence was that He was doing good.


Now what do we understand from this? Christ lived like humans to show us how to live.


We are good because our Heavenly Father is Good!


Matthew 5:45a

In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven. 


So we are good because we are in the nature of our Heavenly Father, He is good and so are we for we are made in His image.


We are not good because we are forced to be, neither are we good because the environment is convenient for us to be nor because everyone is good to us or appreciate our goodness.


We are good because that is our nature as children of God.


Genesis 1:31

Then God looked over all he had made, and he saw that it was very good!And evening passed and morning came, marking the sixth day.


Listen, let no one deceive you, the default nature of man is good. It is choices that bring about sin. Selah


Why does perversion reign at these times, it is because people who are not old enough to make certain decisions are being taught perverse things and forced to make decisions on it. This is the same thing the serpent did in the garden. "Did God say . . ."


No matter how evil the world system gets never let your guard down, you are of God therefore you do good and never choose evil.


The primary force for good is Love.


Love of God then the love for others.


So the highest praise you can give to God is to make people praise Him because of your good works. Selah


Do you do good?


Do not expect to have rest in God if you refuse to walk in goodness. To be part of the kingdom you need to live the kingdom lifestyle.


Do good!


PRAYER 

Loving Father keep me in Your goodness, may I display your nature so that all will glorify You because of me. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.


He calls us blessed.

Remember: God is in control.

As we go through the 11th month of this year of accomplishment, let us be reminded. When it seems to hurt so much, or it all looks quiet and alone, when it appears not to work out.
