TEACH THEM THE WORD

2Kings 23:1-3

Then the king summoned all the elders of Judah and Jerusalem.

And the king went up to the Temple of the Lord with all the people of Judah and Jerusalem, along with the priests and the prophets—all the people from the least to the greatest. There the king read to them the entire Book of the Covenant that had been found in the Lord’s Temple.

The king took his place of authority beside the pillar and renewed the covenant in the Lord’s presence. He pledged to obey the Lord by keeping all his commands, laws, and decrees with all his heart and soul. In this way, he confirmed all the terms of the covenant that were written in the scroll, and all the people pledged themselves to the covenant.

King Josiah was shown the book of the Lord found by the high priest Hilkiah, this really broke Josiah's heart, and as we saw yesterday he tore his clothes in sorrow.

HE DID NOT STOP THERE, HE TOOK ACTION!!!

The king took steps immediately, he called all the elders and all the people, and he read the law to them.

That is it, you take action, you teach them the word.

Are you a father, mother, guidian or in any position of influence, it is your duty to teach those under you the ways of the Lord. Take responsibility starting from your home, your immediate family.

If Hezekiah had done this I do not think his children would have gone astray, however, everyone would yet choose their path. Just play your part as the leader.

Josiah led the people to renew their covenant with God. However, the damage had been done, the atrocities from that of king Solomon up till his grandfather Manasseh and then his father Amnon was still everywhere. He began to destroy them nevertheless.

A large part of 2Kings 22(do read through it), showed us the massive work Josiah went on to do to destroy all these evils that his fathers had created!

What are we building today that will take the heart of our people away from the Lord?

Can we save the next generation, can we expose them to the true word of God.

Not the prosperity or materialistic gospel flying everywhere, but the true gospel of faith that Christ brought to us.

Are we not tired of all these charlatans displaying idol worship, magic, lies, and different types of perverse things in the name of Jesus. Enough is enough. Can we be serious.

Begin from your homes, teach your children the way of the Lord.

The scriptures is not hidden, stop running from one prophet, pastor, general overseer, program to another, can we stay where we are and serve the God who is not limited by time and space.

Can we develop the character of love, power and a sound mind. Can all these lies and deceit on the altars end?

Enough of all these foolishness, enough of the love of the world and the things of the world. Can we focus on God?

Teach them the truth. 

But how can you if you are also deceived and have begun to worship man, money, material things, instead of God.

O help us Good Lord.

Bring us to the right path, yes the ancient right path, where You reign as King in our lives.

Help us Good Lord.

PRAYER

Loving Father, bring Your children back to You. Take away our ignorance fill us with wisdom to walk aright and lead those under our care aright. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.

He calls us blessed.
