RECOKNING

2 Kings 25:1,8-10

So on January 15, during the ninth year of Zedekiah’s reign, King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon led his entire army against Jerusalem. They surrounded the city and built siege ramps against its walls.

On August 14 of that year, which was the nineteenth year of King Nebuchadnezzar’s reign, Nebuzaradan, the captain of the guard and an official of the Babylonian king, arrived in Jerusalem.

He burned down the Temple of the lord, the royal palace, and all the houses of Jerusalem. He destroyed all the important buildings in the city.

Then he supervised the entire Babylonian army as they tore down the walls of Jerusalem on every side.

Recall that when God introduced Himself to Moses, He said:

Exodus 34:6

The Lord passed in front of Moses, calling out, “Yahweh! The Lord!

The God of compassion and mercy!

I am slow to anger and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness.

Can you see that all of God is goodness!

When it comes to anger, God says slow, that is He is patient with us given us enough time to repent and come back on track.

However, if any refuses to repent and return they would be a time of reckoning when they pay for the wrongs they have done.

Many misuse this grace of God and continue to walk in wickedness and disobedience even after they have been warned. What happens?

2 Kings 24:3

These disasters happened to Judah because of the Lord’s command. He had decided to banish Judah from his presence because of the many sins of Manasseh,.

God takes those who refuse to repent from His presence and they then become victims of darkness!

These is what happened to Israel and then later to Judah.

Can we learn from their mistakes? Yes, let us not take God's grace for granted.

Hebrews 3:12-13,15,19

Be careful then, dear brothers and sisters. Make sure that your own hearts are not evil and unbelieving, turning you away from the living God.

You must warn each other every day, while it is still “today,” so that none of you will be deceived by sin and hardened against God.

Remember what it says:

“Today when you hear his voice,

    don’t harden your hearts

as Israel did when they rebelled.”

So we see that because of their unbelief they were not able to enter his rest.

Do not remain stubborn after several corrections, you hear, you pause for a while, then you return to those wrong things again. No, this is dangerous!

Beware, you risk destruction!!!

Proverbs 29:1

Whoever stubbornly refuses to accept criticism will suddenly be destroyed beyond recovery.

Proverbs 15:32

If you reject discipline, you only harm yourself; but if you listen to correction, you grow in understanding.

Can we reexamine ourselves, can we keep our hearts and ears clear to hear when the Lord speaks to us. Too many activities, too much noise, when do we allow God work in us!

O help us Good Father.

Make us always ready for You, we are not of those who draw back, No, we are not of those who rebel, No.

Thank You Lord for You will keep us faithful till the end.

PRAYER

I walk in Your light Loving Father, therefore I do not fear judgment but I await commendation, keep helping me Dear Lord. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.

He calls us blessed.

Love

@the watcher.
