IT IS YET A CHOICE

2 Kings 22:1-2,11

Josiah was eight years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem thirty-one years. His mother was Jedidah, the daughter of Adaiah from Bozkath.

He did what was pleasing in the lord’s sight and followed the example of his ancestor David. He did not turn away from doing what was right.

When the king heard what was written in the Book of the Law, he tore his clothes in despair.

We read of the faithfulness of king Hezekiah to God and how it was recorded that there was no king like him.

We were the baffled that his own son who took over kingship from him, that is, Manasseh, chose to walk in evil ways. Ways so abominable that he put his son through the fire to worship idols.

What was also surprising was that he was 12 years in age when he began to rule!

Following in his steps was his son Amon who also walked in wickedness.

Now here comes his son Josiah who became king at a young age of 8. Josiah chose to walk in the ways pleasing to the Lord.

Now, do you get it?

Yes, they all would have been influenced by someone, their mothers also playing a major role because you would notice that when scriptures introduces them, the name of their mother is mentioned!

That being said we can see that it is still a matter of choice, for no matter the influence they had, they would yet decide what way to go.

Understand that the book of the law was not found before Josiah began to walk in righteousness. It was found while he was trying to repair the temple. Selah.

2 Kings 22:8,10-11

Hilkiah the high priest said to Shaphan the court secretary, “I have found the Book of the Law in the lord’s Temple!” Then Hilkiah gave the scroll to Shaphan, and he read it.

Shaphan also told the king, “Hilkiah the priest has given me a scroll.” So Shaphan read it to the king.

When the king heard what was written in the Book of the Law, he tore his clothes in despair.

So I always say this:

It is always a matter of choice and that is why judgement is justified!

So what choices are you making concerning the most important thing, the destiny of your soul.

Mark 8:37

Is anything worth more than your soul?

Have you accepted God's redemption in Christ, Yeshua Hamaschiac was God in the flesh to reconcile us to Himself, have you accepted this salvation or are you still playing around.

John 3:16

“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.

The time is now!

Are you living like one who would yet give account?

Are you led by love of God and of course love for others, or has hatred, selfishness and wickedness found a home in your heart. Kill it. Come back to God.

We need to choose and choose wisely.

Concerning who to marry, where to work, what business to do, how to raise our family etc.

We choose the way of the Lord than any other and that is wisdom.

O help us Good Lord.

PRAYER

Loving Father, help me choose wisely at all times being led by Your Spirit. I will not err but keep winning for You have given me victory. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.

He calls us blessed.

Love
