IT IS THAT SIMPLE

2 Kings 18:1,3,5-7

Hezekiah son of Ahaz began to rule over Judah in the third year of King Hoshea’s reign in Israel.

He did what was pleasing in the Lord’s sight, just as his ancestor David had done.

Hezekiah trusted in the Lord, the God of Israel. There was no one like him among all the kings of Judah, either before or after his time.

He remained faithful to the Lord in everything, and he carefully obeyed all the commands the Lord had given Moses.

So the Lord was with him, and Hezekiah was successful in everything he did. He revolted against the king of Assyria and refused to pay him tribute.

It is that simple.

Walk in obedience then the Lord will be with you. Resist by walking in disobedience means you are asking the Lord to leave you.

What happens when the Lord leaves you?

You become open to any other thing!

That is what happened to the children of Israel.

2 Kings 18:11-12

At that time the king of Assyria exiled the Israelites to Assyria and placed them in colonies in Halah, along the banks of the Habor River in Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.

For they refused to listen to the Lord their God and obey him. Instead, they violated his covenant—all the laws that Moses the Lord’s servant had commanded them to obey.

That is what it is, many would say O but we are in the new covenant, the old covenant doesn't apply to us. Of course we are in a greater relationship in that we are not just called a people but God now lives in us if we are His by His Spirit. It is not actually a covenant but you become His children ( born of the Spirit), you are now family. Glory!

Therefore rejecting Him is even worse than what the Israelites did.

Listen,

John 3:16-19

“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.

God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.

“There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son.

And the judgment is based on this fact: God’s light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil.

The salvation of all now rests on God Himself, by coming in His Son Christ Jesus He brought salvation to all. However, if any do not believe, then help cannot come to them.

All the commandments have been summarizes into one!

1 John 3:23-24

And this is his commandment: We must believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as he commanded us.

Those who obey God’s commandments remain in fellowship with him, and he with them. And we know he lives in us because the Spirit he gave us lives in us.

So you don't have to pursue Moses's law, you pursue God instead.

Once our heart is with Him, we are on the right track, for we will continue to do that which pleases Him.

So Jesus said:

John 8:29

And the one who sent me is with me—he has not deserted me. For I always do what pleases him.”

It is that simple, stay with God, let Him fill Your heart. How do we do that? Study His word, pray and worship.

Then He will control everything You do, because you will be led by His Spirit who actually is in you.

Titus 2:11-12

For the grace of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people.

And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God,

Yes we come simply to Him.

PRAYER

Loving Father You simply brought us to Yourself in Christ Jesus. May no one complicate this beautiful thing You have done for us. We will not be distracted. It is about You and no one else. Help me Lord to continually walk in obedience to You. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.

He calls us blessed.

Love

@the watcher.
