WHEN THE LORD BLESSES 2
1 Kings 10:3-8
Solomon had answers for all her questions; nothing was too hard for the king to explain to her.
When the queen of Sheba realized how very wise Solomon was, and when she saw the palace he had built,
she was overwhelmed. She was also amazed at the food on his tables, the organization of his officials and their splendid clothing, the cup-bearers, and the burnt offerings Solomon made at the Temple of the lord.
She exclaimed to the king, “Everything I heard in my country about your achievements and wisdom is true!
I didn’t believe what was said until I arrived here and saw it with my own eyes. In fact, I had not heard the half of it! Your wisdom and prosperity are far beyond what I was told.
How happy your people must be! What a privilege for your officials to stand here day after day, listening to your wisdom!
There are many ways the Lord has blessed man and the earth's system by default. Many things people call blessings today are both shared by those who know God and even those who do not know Him.
Christ puts it rightly this way:
Matthew 5:45
In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven. For he gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and the unjust alike.
So be careful of those who say you should bring money so that the Lord can make you this or that, or that the Lord will bless you, sorry the Lord does not collect bribe!
However, when the Lord decides to look at a man and bless Him specially with anything, it is always overwhelming and cannot be hidden, it is glorious.
We understand this from the life of Solomon, Samson, Daniel etc.
Those are special interventions and they do not come easy. They are God's special touch on man and it carries its overwhelming evidence.
Let us look at a man like Abraham, a man who went with just his household to fight five kings and conquered.
Do we want to talk of Moses who became like a God to the children of Israel.
What of Samuel the Bible records that none of his words fell to the ground.
Joseph, all nations had to come to him to be able to eat.
Samson made love all night, got up at midnight pulled off a city gate and left with it.
We can go on and on till we get to Solomon, whom kings came from all parts of the earth, just to hear him speak and behold his wealth he fought No war!
We can go on to Daniel, my mentor, who had so much wisdom yet the Lord multiplied it by ten!!!
Listen, when the Lord blesses you it will shout. It will carry it's splendour.
However, listen to this, the earthy blessing is not close to that which Christ brought.
Listen,
Matthew 12:42
The queen of Sheba will also stand up against this generation on judgment day and condemn it, for she came from a distant land to hear the wisdom of Solomon. Now someone greater than Solomon is here—but you refuse to listen.
Christ came with a wisdom that even Solomon with all his wisdom could not match, for you cannot be wiser than your maker.
That wisdom is that which causes us fallen humans to become the adopted of the Lord. Glory to God.
The blessings that follows this is more than earthly, it is heavenly.
This is why Jesus said:
Matthew 6:33
Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
For we have higher blessings in the kingdom.
Ephesians 1:3
All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.
This is why all men must come to Christ for this blessings that goes beyond the earth, the earthy blessings is just an addition.
We will see the end of Solomon in the coming chapter.
Come to Christ today to enjoy a spiritual blessings which is of the kingdom and no one can take it away from you.
That is the blessing we need.
I am blessed of the Lord.
PRAYER
Loving Father, You have blessed me with all spiritual blessings in Christ Jesus, help me dwell in You continually and not be distracted by those things that have no value. Truly I am blessed. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.
He calls us blessed.
Love
@the watcher.
