STILL ON CONSEQUENCES

2 Samuel 21:2-3,6

So the king summoned the Gibeonites. They were not part of Israel but were all that was left of the nation of the Amorites. The people of Israel had sworn not to kill them, but Saul, in his zeal for Israel and Judah, had tried to wipe them out.
David asked them, “What can I do for you? How can I make amends so that you will bless the Lord’s people again?”
So let seven of Saul’s sons be handed over to us, and we will execute them before the lord at Gibeon, on the mountain of the Lord.”“All right,” the king said, “I will do it.”

Saul's actions even after death was affecting his descendants negatively. His wrong choices were now bringing about an annihilation of his generation.

We cannot emphasize this enough, be careful how you live your life, do not take rash decisions. Your decisions should not be based on emotions, sentiments, anger or even pride.

They should be well thought out and as believers, let it be by the leading of God's Spirit in us.

Ephesians 5:15,17
So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise.
Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do.

We must always consider the consequences knowing that we cannot escape the repercussion of our actions.

That spur of the moment can cause pain that will span for years. That wrong word may be remembered for many years. Those actions could backfire on your children. We must live like the wise.

Who exactly are we trying to please? Ourselves, others, who exactly? Are they really worth the sacrifice?

Do not sacrifice a lasting legacy just to look good in front of people or to satisfy a temporary wrath or feed your ego and pride. It is not worth it.

David was one man who in all his fault was able to walk in humility.

Never forget the nature you are of:

Galatians 5:22-23
But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!

O help us Good Lord.

PRAYER
Loving Father my heart is Yours, yes I am not perfect but I lean on You to perfect me. Help me Lord to be truly led by Your Spirit. Lord don't let me make bad decisions that I will not bring pain on myself, my generation or the faith. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.

He calls us blessed.
