REPERCUSSION
2 Samuel 18:10,14-15,17
One of David’s men saw what had happened and told Joab, “I saw Absalom dangling from a great tree.”
“Enough of this nonsense,” Joab said. Then he took three daggers and plunged them into Absalom’s heart as he dangled, still alive, in the great tree.
Ten of Joab’s young armor bearers then surrounded Absalom and killed him.
They threw Absalom’s body into a deep pit in the forest and piled a great heap of stones over it. And all Israel fled to their homes.
There is always a repercussion for every decision we take. This is why in wisdom, we think of the consequences before we take an action.
One would wonder what led Absalom to arise against his father the king who was God's anointed. Yes, he may have had a well thought plan, but:
Proverbs 19:21
You can make many plans, but the Lord’s purpose will prevail.
His plan may have been great, he may have won the heart of the people and of the wise counselor of David but he was working against God's anointed, so he was bound to fail.
We learn therefore to look at the end of a thing even before it begins as scripture also says:
Ecclesiastes 7:8
Finishing is better than starting. Patience is better than pride.
Think of the consequences, the repercussion before you take that action. Are you walking in God's plan or are you walking against Him.
We will not make Absalom's mistake, never, we will walk in the way of the Lord.
Glory to God.
PRAYER
Loving Father keep me within Your will that I will not make wrong decisions. Make me prosper in making right decisions. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.
He calls us blessed.
Love
