MAKE GOOD YOUR ANOINTING
Samuel 23:1-2,5-6
These are the last words of David:
“David, the son of Jesse, speaks— David, the man who was raised up so high,
David, the man anointed by the God of Jacob,
David, the sweet psalmist of Israel.
“The Spirit of the Lord speaks through me; his words are upon my tongue.
“Is it not my family God has chosen?
Yes, he has made an everlasting covenant with me.
His agreement is arranged and guaranteed in every detail.
He will ensure my safety and success.
But the godless are like thorns to be thrown away, for they tear the hand that touches them.
David was not the first to be anointed king in Israel, he was the second after Saul.
What stands out with David was that he made good his anointing. He didn't allow it to get to him so much as to become proud and arrogant. He knew whose he was and he ensured that he gave God His honour at all times.
Why do we then wonder when the Lord was favourable to Him and made him the lineage to the coming Messiah and till today he stands as a testimony to the whole of Israel.
What were his last words? Praises to the Most High God. The state of his heart was always in resonance with God. Definitely he was a man after God's heart.
We still sing the songs he and those who were with him wrote after so many centuries. Some of them are prophetic words and prophesies which are included in that which was revealed in the new testament.
2 Corinthians 1:20
For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to God for his glory.
Listen fellow brethren, we need to make good our anointing.
What has God called you into in Christ Jesus, don't throw it away, don't turn to mammon, pride, carnal relevance or play around with it. Make good your anointing!
Do we say that David didn't make mistakes? No. Yes he did, but he didn't stay there he sought for forgiveness, dusted off the dust and continued with the Lord. Even when the Lord chastised him for his wrong he took it in good faith and didn't take it out on anyone.
What was dynamic? His heart was always with the Lord.
Where is your heart anointed one of the Lord?
Where is the fruit of your anointing, is it still profitable for the Lord's purpose or have another taken His place? Have you traded it for your own personal agenda or that of another?
It is time to get back on track, let us learn from David and make good our anointing.
Listen, you think you are small, No, no matter your level in life, be you a child, spouse, parent, leader whatever you are, you must make good your anointing.
Remember that David began to make good his anointing even as a little boy guarding his father's sheep!
Wake up!
Help us Good Lord.
PRAYER
Loving Father get me back on track no matter how far I have derailed. Keep me with You Lord that I may make good my anointing. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.
He calls us blessed.
Love
@the watcher.
