CHOOSE THE RIGHT SIDE

1 Kings 2:24,27,34,44

The Lord has confirmed me and placed me on the throne of my father, David; he has established my dynasty as he promised. So as surely as the Lord lives, Adonijah will die this very day!”

So Solomon deposed Abiathar from his position as priest of the Lord, thereby fulfilling the prophecy the Lord had given at Shiloh concerning the descendants of Eli.

So Benaiah son of Jehoiada returned to the sacred tent and killed Joab, and he was buried at his home in the wilderness.

The king also said to Shimei, “You certainly remember all the wicked things you did to my father, David. May the Lord now bring that evil on your own head.

One great mistake people make is to choose the wrong side. Forming alliance with the wicked is committing yourself to their destruction when their punishment comes.

Listen, if you place yourself in the camp of those who battle against God's own, you just invited destruction for yourself.

How are you sure that person/people you hate is not loved by God? Be wise, don't create evil for yourself!

Proverbs 1:10,14-19

My child, if sinners entice you, turn your back on them!

Come, throw in your lot with us; we’ll all share the loot.”

My child, don’t go along with them!

Stay far away from their paths.

They rush to commit evil deeds.

They hurry to commit murder.

If a bird sees a trap being set, it knows to stay away.

But these people set an ambush for themselves; they are trying to get themselves killed.

Such is the fate of all who are greedy for money; it robs them of life.

David was still alive yet Joab and Abiathar had quickly gone to form alliance with Adonijah to set him as king, he David was not even consulted. They were not interested in God's will in the matter.

Listen, you who quickly leave your parent's counsel to go seek for confidants outside, the same for spouses who live their loyal partners to go establish confidants elsewhere.

Unless you have irresponsible parents or married to a foolish spouse, why else would you feel that an outsider has your best interest at heart?

Really:

Proverbs 2:6,10-12

For the Lord grants wisdom!

From his mouth come knowledge and understanding.

For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will fill you with joy.

Wise choices will watch over you.

Understanding will keep you safe.

Wisdom will save you from evil people, from those whose words are twisted.

Most of our sufferings are as a result of our choices, we should then choose right?

Why do we keep doing the wrong things again and again?

Can we retrace our steps before it is too late? Can we begin to make the right decisions and the right association?

Let us learn from the errors of those before us.

1 Corinthians 10:11

These things happened to them as examples for us. They were written down to warn us who live at the end of the age.

Who is your confidant, what are your discuss? Is it of good things or is it of evil?

You who is a parent, a spouse or an influence on people's lives, how are you impacting them? Are you giving good advice or are you an agent of evil and discord?

Can we let the Lord lead our lives so that we can bear good fruits!

Enough of the evils!

Help us Good Lord.

PRAYER

Loving Father may I only be associated with good relationships that produces good fruits. May I never be entangled with the gathering of the wicked. Help me Lord to be led by You in all things that I will not err. I choose the righteous side. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.

He calls us blessed.

Love

@the watcher.
