WHEN REJECTION IS GOOD

1 Samuel 29:1-4

The entire Philistine army now mobilized at Aphek, and the Israelites camped at the spring in Jezreel.

As the Philistine rulers were leading out their troops in groups of hundreds and thousands, David and his men marched at the rear with King Achish.

But the Philistine commanders demanded, “What are these Hebrews doing here?”And Achish told them, “This is David, the servant of King Saul of Israel. He’s been with me for years, and I’ve never found a single fault in him from the day he arrived until today.”

But the Philistine commanders were angry. “Send him back to the town you’ve given him!” they demanded. “He can’t go into the battle with us. What if he turns against us in battle and becomes our adversary? Is there any better way for him to reconcile himself with his master than by handing our heads over to him?

Not all rejections are evil.

What would have happened if David had been allowed to go into battle on the side of the Philistines? Would he have fought his own people and killed his people by the edge of the sword? He would have come face to face with Saul and Jonathan in battle, what would he have done?

As believers when we face disappointment or rejection, it is not always a disadvantage, it could also be a deliverance.

Not all things are as good as the look, we can only see the immediate but the Lord can open our eyes to see the tomorrows.

Genesis 50:20

You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of people.

Don't stay too long mourning over that loss or disappointment. Get up, it is time to plan again, to hear from God and to act.

The coming year will be better than this one.

Glory to God forevermore.

PRAYER

Thank You Lord for all the ways You have delivered me this year. I let go of every mourning and I listen for your direction for the coming year. Lead me Dear Lord. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.

He calls us blessed.

Love
