DO NOT SLIDE DOWN

 1 Samuel 13:13-14

“How foolish!” Samuel exclaimed. “You have not kept the command the Lord your God gave you. Had you kept it, the Lord would have established your kingdom over Israel forever.

But now your kingdom must end, for the Lord has sought out a man after his own heart. The Lord has already appointed him to be the leader of his people, because you have not kept the Lord’s command.”

When you are specially chosen by God you cannot afford to live by logic or mere human reasoning. The key word is obedience.

Obedience is what will keep you in God's plan and favour.

What is the use of receiving instructions if you will not obey it? It is better you never received the instructions in the first place.

1 Samuel 13:8-10

Saul waited there seven days for Samuel, as Samuel had instructed him earlier, but Samuel still didn’t come. Saul realized that his troops were rapidly slipping away.

So he demanded, “Bring me the burnt offering and the peace offerings!” And Saul sacrificed the burnt offering himself.

Just as Saul was finishing with the burnt offering, Samuel arrived. Saul went out to meet and welcome him,

This is our problem as believers, that believe that if I do not help myself God would not help me.

Unless of course you have not received His instruction, but if the Lord has instructed you, hold fast to it, don't ever think of disobeying.

One danger of disobedience is that it pulls on you, the more you disobey the greater the tendency of you disobeying again.

The fall of man was because of disobedience to a very clear and concise instruction. Remember the reason why Moses did not enter the promised land, he flouted an instruction to bring glory to himself. 

We must watch it, disobedience may begin to slide in bit by bit, know that the end point is downfall of the believer, don't give in.

Matthew 28:20

Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

It is very important indeed for new converts to be taught the word of God that they may walk in obedience.

Not every believer gets a direct call from God concerning ministry or a particular assignment, however, there is a general call out to all believers and we are expected to walk in that obedience.

Luke 6:49

But anyone who hears and doesn’t obey is like a person who builds a house without a foundation. When the floods sweep down against that house, it will collapse into a heap of ruins.”

You are not family with Christ if you do not walk in obedience!

Luke 8:21

Jesus replied, “My mother and my brothers are all those who hear God’s word and obey it.”

Obedience is the key that keeps you family, when you begin to walk in disobedience, you are estranging yourself from the family.

Remember what happened to Cain, he had to run to a strange city.

The prove of your love for God is actually obedience!

John 14:15,21

“If you love me, obey my commandments.

Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them. And I will love them and reveal myself to each of them.”

Dear ministers, parents, spiritual leaders and all that have been called by God, understand the assignment. It is more than money and all the jamborees going on in the world, listen:

2 Corinthians 10:5

We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.

O help us Good Lord, we will not slide down we will instead:

2 Peter 3:18

Rather, you must grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.All glory to him, both now and forever! Amen.

Deuteronomy 11:1

“You must love the Lord your God and always obey his requirements, decrees, regulations, and commands.

Help us Good Lord.

Glory to God.

PRAYER

Dear Heavenly Father keep me that I may not slide down, but come closer and closer to You day after day, knowing Your instructions and walking in obedience. I will please You in all things Lord. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.

He calls us blessed.
