A WISE WOMAN
1 Samuel 25:32-35
David replied to Abigail, “Praise the Lord, the God of Israel, who has sent you to meet me today!
Thank God for your good sense! Bless you for keeping me from murder and from carrying out vengeance with my own hands.
For I swear by the Lord, the God of Israel, who has kept me from hurting you, that if you had not hurried out to meet me, not one of Nabal’s men would still be alive tomorrow morning.”
Then David accepted her present and told her, “Return home in peace. I have heard what you said. We will not kill your husband.”
Reading through chapter 25 of the book of 1Samuel we see the story of Nabal "a rich fool", for that is what his wife said:
1 Samuel 25:25a
I know Nabal is a wicked and ill-tempered man; please don’t pay any attention to him. He is a fool, just as his name suggests.
The worst thing to happen to one is to have wealth, but no wisdom. If not of his wife's wisdom his whole family would have been whipped out!
Scriptures gives us instructions again and again to be wise, to walk in wisdom, for without wisdom destruction is not far away.
Thus the wise man records:
Proverbs 14:1
A wise woman builds her home, but a foolish woman tears it down with her own hands.
True wisdom is seeking God:
Romans 3:11
No one is truly wise; no one is seeking God.
Just as scripture also records:
Proverbs 9:10
Fear of the Lord is the foundation of wisdom.
Knowledge of the Holy One results in good judgment.
For true wisdom begins from the fear of God, any other wisdom will fail.
Abigail played the part of a wise woman and accomplished two things. She saved her family from being destroyed and also saved David, the soon to be king, from shedding innocent blood.
Are you a wise woman or are you a destroyer of your home?
Are you a wise man or are you a destroyer of your home?
Many cannot have rest till they create one kind of discord or another, be careful, for you are creating an environment where God's presence will not be, His angels would not be on assignment in that aura, instead you are creating an atmosphere for the enemy to thrive!
How long will you remain in that foolishness, come to the Lord for He said:
James 1:5
If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.
Don't wallow in foolishness, come to the Lord and receive wisdom to excel in all you do.
The Lord has always said: "COME".
Matthew 11:28
Then Jesus said, “COME to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.
John 7:38
Anyone who believes in me may COME and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’”
Isaiah 1:18
“COME now, let’s settle this,” says the Lord.
“Though your sins are like scarlet,
I will make them as white as snow.
Though they are red like crimson,
I will make them as white as wool.
Isaiah 55:1
“Is anyone thirsty? COME and drink— even if you have no money!
COME, take your choice of wine or milk— it’s all free!
The Lord does not just let us see our fault, no, the law does. The Lord brings us help to make us right again. Glory to God.
So, are you a wise woman?
Are you a wise man?
The choice is yours, help is here.
Glory to God.
PRAYER
Loving Father help me to walk in Your wisdom that I will prevent destruction but instead build in love. Fill me with Your wisdom O Lord. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.
He calls us blessed.
Love
