WHEN IT IS TIME

1 Samuel 1:7,9-10,13,16-18

Year after year it was the same—Peninnah would taunt Hannah as they went to the Tabernacle. Each time, Hannah would be reduced to tears and would not even eat.

Once after a sacrificial meal at Shiloh, Hannah got up and went to pray. Eli the priest was sitting at his customary place beside the entrance of the Tabernacle.

Hannah was in deep anguish, crying bitterly as she prayed to the Lord.

Seeing her lips moving but hearing no sound, he thought she had been drinking.

Don’t think I am a wicked woman! For I have been praying out of great anguish and sorrow.”

“In that case,” Eli said, “go in peace! May the God of Israel grant the request you have asked of him.”

“Oh, thank you, sir!” she exclaimed. Then she went back and began to eat again, and she was no longer sad.

When it is time for your breakthrough you will take that step!

Hannah had gone through the pain of barrenness and as those who have experienced it can testify, you would face mockery and many will hurt you consciously or unconsciously because of your situation.

Hannah cried, but when it was time she knew that she was crying to the wrong person!

1 Samuel 1:8

“Why are you crying, Hannah?” Elkanah would ask. “Why aren’t you eating? Why be downhearted just because you have no children? You have me—isn’t that better than having ten sons?”

Until a believer understands that their true friend, confident and help is the Heavenly Father, they have not really come to real self acknowledgement. We as humans can try what we can but it is the Lord that can do all things. He is the El Shaddai.

Every human is limited and all have their own burden, it is the Lord who does not have anything to hold Him back, He is able, but most times this knowledge is limited to us as mere words, we do not seem to remember them when we need to apply them.

Jesus told the disciples:

John 16:22-24

So you have sorrow now, but I will see you again; then you will rejoice, and no one can rob you of that joy.

At that time you won’t need to ask me for anything. I tell you the truth, you will ask the Father directly, and he will grant your request because you use my name.

You haven’t done this before. Ask, using my name, and you will receive, and you will have abundant joy.

Most people discover their prayer through challenges and difficulties. I am one that believes that we do not need that. A believer must live a life of prayer!

Stay in prayer, watch in prayer, study the word in prayer, worship in prayer, do all you do in and out of your home in prayer. Prayer is the believer staying in God's presence. Glory to God!

When it was time Hannah found herself in the place of prayer. It wasn't shouting and disturbing others, it wasn't a five minutes dash as religious routine. It wasn't a show off to tell people how long you stayed in prayer, really it wasn't coming to justify yourself before God or to receive power to perform miracle. 

It was a conversation with the Father. Laying it all bare.

It got so intense that lips moved but none could hear what she was saying except to Whom she spoke.

The priest thought her to be drunk!

Listen, prayer should be your lifestyle.

Listen, you need to spend alone time with the Lord praying, you also pray as you walk along the way, as you do your daily work. Prayer is the believer's lifestyle.

We call Him Father, yet feel it awkward to relate to the Heavenly Father like the Father!

Are you ready, or do you want to wait some more? It is time, arise, PRAY!

Listen, child of God, do not think that it is because you have not prayed enough that some things have not happened. Understand the times. However, somethings are delayed because you do not pray. Therefore we must pray to understand what is happening in the spirit realm. We must do our part. So that when it is time we will not miss out.

Remember this, that more than anything else your soul's welfare is what the Lord seeks. All your desires, wishes and aspiration are meaningless if your soul is lost, so calm down, if you have life you have all reason to give God praise.

Jesus asked:

Is anything worth more than your soul?

Paul prays:

1 Thessalonians 5:23

Now may the God of peace make you holy in every way, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ comes again.

So, know that the Lord has your best interest at heart, He will yet do that which you wait on Him for.

Stay in prayer, walk in His presence. All things will work out for good. It it's time.

PRAYER

Dear Lord my life is in Your hands. Remember me afresh and make my yearnings be satisfied with Your goodness. Strengthen me in prayer Lord let me enjoy Your righteousness, peace and joy in Your Holy Spirit. You have settled all that concerns me they are revealed day after day. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.

He calls us blessed.
