VIRTUOUSNESS

Ruth 3:5-6,11,18

“I will do everything you say,” Ruth replied.

So she went down to the threshing floor that night and followed the instructions of her mother-in-law.

Now don’t worry about a thing, my daughter. I will do what is necessary, for everyone in town knows you are a virtuous woman.

Then Naomi said to her, “Just be patient, my daughter, until we hear what happens. The man won’t rest until he has settled things today.”

What is our record with those who  deal with us day after day. What is our testimony? Do we have a good report or do people wonder how on earth we could be children of God?

The book of Proverbs instructs us:

Proverbs 22:1

Choose a good reputation over great riches; being held in high esteem is better than silver or gold.

Boaz said this concerning Ruth:

Ruth 3:10-11

“The Lord bless you, my daughter!” Boaz exclaimed. “You are showing even more family loyalty now than you did before, for you have not gone after a younger man, whether rich or poor.

Now don’t worry about a thing, my daughter. I will do what is necessary, for everyone in town knows you are a virtuous woman.

We cannot throw out our virtue because of immediate needs or pleasure. We cannot afford to sacrifice our Godly living to please a human, in that case displeasing God.

We must ask ourselves who has the priority position in our lives, who really has the say?

Boaz also was a man of virtue, he saw his responsibility and picked it, he went hastily to put things in order.

Naomi had this to say concerning him:

Ruth 3:2,18

Boaz is a close relative of ours, and he’s been very kind by letting you gather grain with his young women. Tonight he will be winnowing barley at the threshing floor.

Then Naomi said to her, “Just be patient, my daughter, until we hear what happens. The man won’t rest until he has settled things today.”

Enough of noise making christians who claim to manifest the gifts of the Spirit but of the fruit they have no part in.

Jesus said:

Matthew 7:16a

You can identify them by their fruit, that is, by the way they act.

Let us look at our lives, are we the reflection of Christ to the world? Do we have a good testimony? Can we be called virtuous?

It is time to get it right.

Help us Good Lord.

PRAYER

Dear Father help me have a good testimony let Your virtue flow through me. Let all I think, speak and do please You Lord. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.

He calls us blessed.
