RESTORATION

Ruth 4:13-17

So Boaz took Ruth into his home, and she became his wife. When he slept with her, the Lord enabled her to become pregnant, and she gave birth to a son.

Then the women of the town said to Naomi, “Praise the Lord, who has now provided a redeemer for your family! May this child be famous in Israel.

May he restore your youth and care for you in your old age. For he is the son of your daughter-in-law who loves you and has been better to you than seven sons!”

Naomi took the baby and cuddled him to her breast. And she cared for him as if he were her own.

The neighbor women said, “Now at last Naomi has a son again!” And they named him Obed. He became the father of Jesse and the grandfather of David.

The book of Ruth has an happy ending, though Naomi had so much loss, the birth of Obed brought a restoration.

Have you noticed how those who were supposed to be outsiders, seem to find their place in the genealogy of the great path of Israel's history and the birth of great men. This even goes ahead to the birth of Christ.

Ruth 4:18-21

This is the genealogical record of their ancestor Perez:Perez was the father of Hezron.

Hezron was the father of Ram.Ram was the father of Amminadab.

Amminadab was the father of Nahshon.Nahshon was the father of Salmon.

Salmon was the father of Boaz.Boaz was the father of Obed.

The line of Boaz came all the way from their ancestor Perez. Do you remember how Perez was born?

Genesis 38:6,11,13,16,25,27,29(Read the whole chapter)

In the course of time, Judah arranged for his firstborn son, Er, to marry a young woman named Tamar.

Then Judah said to Tamar, his daughter-in-law, “Go back to your parents’ home and remain a widow until my son Shelah is old enough to marry you.” (But Judah didn’t really intend to do this because he was afraid Shelah would also die, like his two brothers.) So Tamar went back to live in her father’s home.

Someone told Tamar, “Look, your father-in-law is going up to Timnah to shear his sheep.”

So he stopped and propositioned her. “Let me have sex with you,” he said, not realizing that she was his own daughter-in-law.“How much will you pay to have sex with me?” Tamar asked.

But as they were taking her out to kill her, she sent this message to her father-in-law: “The man who owns these things made me pregnant. Look closely. Whose seal and cord and walking stick are these?”

When the time came for Tamar to give birth, it was discovered that she was carrying twins.

But then he pulled back his hand, and out came his brother! “What!” the midwife exclaimed. “How did you break out first?” So he was named Perez.

Perez was like a child born out wedlock, he would have been termed a rejected offspring!

However, he became the direct line lineage to the birth of David.

Ruth 4:22

Obed was the father of Jesse. Jesse was the father of David.

The same way Ruth who was an outsider came in and became part of the lineage that brought forth David.

This shows us that it is not just about being born into a place but what you do in that place, how have you worked in faith. You can be elevated!

When people are faithful, they sometimes look unwise to some, some laugh at them while others mock, however when the fruit of their faithfulness is revealed those who mocked them would see that they were actually the foolish ones.

The best thing anyone in distress, chaos or any other discomfort can do, is to come to the Lord.

When we say: "come to the Lord", we are not talking about ceremonial visits, or jumping from one program, crusade, prayer jamboree to another. No.

We are talking of giving your heart to the Lord. Not a brush off, or a one off, but a total commitment to Him.

Remember what Ruth said:

Ruth 1:16

But Ruth replied, “Don’t ask me to leave you and turn back. Wherever you go, I will go; wherever you live, I will live. Your people will be my people, and your God will be my God.

A sincere resolution, not mere words but lifestyle.

Jesus said:

Matthew 11:28

Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.

He was not talking of coming for a brief moment, but coming to stay, so that you may have rest.

It is time for restoration, however you must let go and let God.

Romans 12:2

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

Don't choose the world, choose God. Let go of all the garbage behaviours and habits that you have held on to all these years. How long will you remain in bondage?

Change! Repent!

Listen, the atmosphere around you will remain chaos and troubles if that is always what you see in every situation. Emancipate yourself, come to the Lord.

Throw away hatred, malice and all those evil vices!

Let love rule in Your heart. Let God's Spirit take over your thoughts and actions.

Restoration is here again!

Glory to God.

PRAYER

Loving Father I come to You for full restoration. I know You have done this in Christ Jesus, I enter into it today, take over Lord and make me prosper in this land of the living in the Spirit and in life. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.

He calls us blessed.

Love
