WHEN YOU REFUSE TO BE FAITHFUL

Judges 2:10-14

After that generation died, another generation grew up who did not acknowledge the Lord or remember the mighty things he had done for Israel.
The Israelites did evil in the Lord’s sight and served the images of Baal.
They abandoned the Lord, the God of their ancestors, who had brought them out of Egypt. They went after other gods, worshiping the gods of the people around them. And they angered the Lord.
They abandoned the Lord to serve Baal and the images of Ashtoreth.
This made the Lord burn with anger against Israel, so he handed them over to raiders who stole their possessions. He turned them over to their enemies all around, and they were no longer able to resist them.

Why will you refuse to be faithful, and yet expect the Lord to be faithful to you? Who are you?

Why do we trade the wrong things and acquire the things that put us in disadvantage?

Judges 2:1-2
The angel of the Lord went up from Gilgal to Bokim and said to the Israelites, “I brought you out of Egypt into this land that I swore to give your ancestors, and I said I would never break my covenant with you.
For your part, you were not to make any covenants with the people living in this land; instead, you were to destroy their altars. But you disobeyed my command. Why did you do this?

Why do we keep playing the harlot, why is it so difficult to be faithful? It is because, we have not allowed the flesh to go.

Romans 8:6-8
So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.
For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God’s laws, and it never will.
That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God.

Humans sometimes think they are smart when they go against God and the things that please Him. Look at what happened at the garden, why would Eve even attempt to consider the enemy's proposition? It is because there is a tendency of being independent, to explore options where they become an authority.

Women do the same today, many betray their husbands never remembering their sacrifice but continue to look for faults. They have abandoned God's marriage plan and have followed the plot of the serpent. They are operating under a curse!

The same with husbands who refuse to act as husbands and fathers but waste their time of influence, they live to regret it.

You abandon the one who made you and brought you into prosperity because one low being challenges you to taste the forbidden! Foolishness at it's peak.

The end is always the same, you are chased out of your Eden to go suffer in a laden!

My question always is, how does this apply to us now as believers? Are we learning from these biblical records of the past or are we making the same mistakes?

You claim to love God and are faithful, yet all you know how to do is to cause hate, distrust and lie. They flood our churches, they have an appearance of holiness or a display of "church attitude" but deep down what Christ said plays out:

Matthew 23:27
“What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs—beautiful on the outside but filled on the inside with dead people’s bones and all sorts of impurity.

You create a false sense of opposition, which most likely is non-existent. You want to see evil and wrong in others but you are a monster inside, you cannot be trusted for your heart continually devices evil and hate.

Carrying all these dirty things inside, how then do you want to experience God? How then do you want God's Spirit to control you? It is actually "self destruct"!

The children of Israel allowed some of those the Lord ask them to destroy to remain with them. They thought they were wise the made some slaves but what happened in the future?

Judges 2:11-13
The Israelites did evil in the Lord’s sight and served the images of Baal.
They abandoned the Lord, the God of their ancestors, who had brought them out of Egypt. They went after other gods, worshiping the gods of the people around them. And they angered the Lord.
They abandoned the Lord to serve Baal and the images of Ashtoreth.

There was one key observation about that generation:

Judges 2:10
After that generation died, another generation grew up who did not acknowledge the Lord or remember the mighty things he had done for Israel.

How did this happen, what were their parents doing, how come they did not fully instruct their children on the way of the Lord and of His mighty works, how come?

Are we not seeing the same today?

Are we instructing the younger generation on the way of the Lord. Starting from your home, are you raising your children in the way of the Lord?

Yes, it is not easy but we have to do our work, before that child is twenty they must have been fully established in the way of the Lord and we must ensure this, God being our helper.

Do you have it, for you cannot give what you don't have. Have you known the Lord? Have you equipped yourself with His word, dwell in His presence in prayers and worship and are you a good example?

These are the questions we need to answer now! Then make amends.

One terrible thing about the children of Israel is that they were adamant, they will do a little remorse then go back to their evil again. Are you like that? It is the most dangerous thing to do for you are headed for destruction!

Emancipate yourself today, release yourself to the Lord. Throw away that evil pride and ego!

STOP LYING TO YOURSELF AND OTHERS

Be set free today!

How long will you remain in that decadence, how long will you hold on to those dirty and disgusting character you hide in your heart yet you are looking for who to blame for your predicament. Receive your deliverance today!

O that our eyes will be opened to see how much we hurt ourselves when we keep holding onto those disgusting characters!

Ephesians 4:30-32
And do not bring sorrow to God’s Holy Spirit by the way you live. Remember, he has identified you as his own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption.
Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior.
Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.

It is time to let go of all these evils, idols and bad characters we hold on to, it is time to be fully emancipated.

Romans 12:21
Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good.

O help us Good Lord.

PRAYER
Dear Loving Father I let go of all nonsense and evil things I hold onto. I say no more! Your glory Lord will flood my life, my character will be of Thy Spirit O Lord. Make me Dear Father to be the person you want me to be, I submit completely. All I do will please You Lord. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.

He calls us blessed.

Love
