REMIND THEM OF THE LORD'S FAITHFULNESS

Judges 6:8-10

the Lord sent a prophet to the Israelites. He said, “This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: I brought you up out of slavery in Egypt.
I rescued you from the Egyptians and from all who oppressed you. I drove out your enemies and gave you their land.
I told you, ‘I am the Lord your God. You must not worship the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you now live.’ But you have not listened to me.”

There must be systems in place to make us keep our children and the generation after us in remembrance of God's faithfulness in our lives.

Greater than wealth and any other legacy we want to leave for our children, the most important thing is to bring them up in the way of the Lord.

I wonder how this happened?

Judges 2:10-13
After that generation died, another generation grew up who did not acknowledge the Lord or remember the mighty things he had done for Israel.
The Israelites did evil in the Lord’s sight and served the images of Baal.
They abandoned the Lord, the God of their ancestors, who had brought them out of Egypt. They went after other gods, worshiping the gods of the people around them. And they angered the Lord.
They abandoned the Lord to serve Baal and the images of Ashtoreth.

Remember the reason God chose their father Abraham:

Genesis 18:18-19
“For Abraham will certainly become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth will be blessed through him.
I have singled him out so that he will direct his sons and their families to keep the way of the lord by doing what is right and just. Then I will do for Abraham all that I have promised.”

After the fall of man what God was working out was reconciliation. To bring man back to the position he created him. All that happened through the old testament was for this very reason, even that of Abraham.

For Paul explained:

Colossians 2:17
For these rules are only shadows of the reality yet to come. And Christ himself is that reality.

It was all pointing to that which God will fulfill in Christ Jesus. For Jesus told the teachers of the law:

John 8:56
Your father Abraham rejoiced as he looked forward to my coming. He saw it and was glad.”

So when Christ came, died, resurrected and ascended He fulfilled all, yet one thing remained consistent, we must share the message!

Matthew 28:18-20
Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth.
Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

In another verse Christ talked about starting from Jerusalem, our Jerusalem is our immediate home, to our families, our local communities, then other communities then to all nations.

When Christ left, He gave us the assignment:

2 Corinthians 5:18-20
And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him.
For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation.
So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!”

Glory to God.

We must not make the same mistake they made, we must keep our children in the ways of the Lord.

Yes, there are strong men(principalities and powers) wanting to take the heart of people from the Lord, but we have a stronger power in us, which is of the Lord that has defeated them in Christ Jesus.

Matthew 28:18
Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth.

Colossians 2:15
In this way, he disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross.

Therefore brethren, let us arise in prayer, in worship in true study and dessimination of the word, in uprightness and in love, to totally conquer the strong powers and let God reign in the life of our generation and the next through Christ Jesus.

We will keep remembrance of the Lord's faithfulness.

Glory to God forevermore.

PRAYER
My generation will praise You Lord, my children will serve You Lord, none will be lost, by Your mighty power they will remain faithful. The earth shall be covered by Your glory O Lord and Your will is done on earth as it is in heaven. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.

He calls us blessed.

Love
