WHEN THE LORD BATTLES

 Joshua 6:1-2,20

Now the gates of Jericho were tightly shut because the people were afraid of the Israelites. No one was allowed to go out or in.

But the lord said to Joshua, “I have given you Jericho, its king, and all its strong warriors.

When the people heard the sound of the rams’ horns, they shouted as loud as they could. Suddenly, the walls of Jericho collapsed, and the Israelites charged straight into the town and captured it.

As knowledge increases concerning science, philosophy of life and other intellectual understanding of how the universe works one may make the mistake of undermining the power of God and His works.

God leaves the earth to run its course and allows man to live by his choice and the believe system that they create (always remember that we were created with a will, the ability to choose). So we had many nations worshipping different things as gods.

It is not different today, many people worship different things consciously or unconsciously, some inherited from their parents but at one time created by a certain people.

In the midst of it all, there is only One True God. The Heavenly Father Himself!

When He steps into a situation every other thing or power must stop and give Him way!

Isaiah 40:15,17-19,21-22

No, for all the nations of the world are but a drop in the bucket. 

They are nothing more than dust on the scales. 

He picks up the whole earth as though it were a grain of sand.

The nations of the world are worth nothing to him. 

In his eyes they count for less than nothing— mere emptiness and froth.

To whom can you compare God? 

What image can you find to resemble him?

Can he be compared to an idol formed in a mold, overlaid with gold, and decorated with silver chains?

Haven’t you heard? Don’t you understand? 

Are you deaf to the words of God— the words he gave before the world began? 

Are you so ignorant?

God sits above the circle of the earth. The people below seem like grasshoppers to him! 

He spreads out the heavens like a curtain and makes his tent from them.

The people of Jericho had no chance, their walls were nothing, it is an example of what happens when you are situated on the side against the Lord, destruction is what awaits.

Today we enjoy this same power because Christ has revealed the Heavenly Father. No longer restricted with the people of Israel but the whole world can now enjoy the Heavenly Father's adoption as sons.

John 1:12

But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.

The battle won is not just a mere physical one but victory over the spiritual enemies, the real contenders.

Luke 4:18

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. 

He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free, 

What the children of Israel saw, was the fall of the wall of Jericho and the annihilation of the people living there. They did not see the main battle, the overpowering of the principalities and powers that reigned over that territory.

Christ also gave the victory to all of us who believe:

Colossians 2:15

In this way, he disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross.

And He declared:

Matthew 28:18

Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth.

So, woe into them that battle with the Lord. The same to those who battle the children of God, it is actually a death sentence.

Brethren, leave your battle with the Lord. He will take charge and give you victory.

Always remember that is not just about that person trying to get under your skin.

 But . . 

Ephesians 6:12

For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.

So to have victory we must:

Ephesians 6:13-18

Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.

Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness.

For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared.

In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil.

Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.

All these we received when we were given the new birth, what we need to do is to keep it maintained by continuing in prayer in the Spirit and fellowship in the Spirit. Of course we remember that His word is the sword to attack and conquer.

We have victory in Christ Jesus.

Keep living in obedience and love. Never leave His presence, instead stir up your spirit to always be in tune with His Spirit in You.

Yes, we have victory.

PRAYER

I have victory in You Dear Loving Father for You have given me all victory in Christ Jesus. Let all your people be renewed in hope and faith today as You display your power in all situations of our lives. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.
