THE REQUIREMENT

Joshua 5:2-6

At that time the Lord told Joshua, “Make flint knives and circumcise this second generation of Israelites.”

So Joshua made flint knives and circumcised the entire male population of Israel at Gibeath-haaraloth.

Joshua had to circumcise them because all the men who were old enough to fight in battle when they left Egypt had died in the wilderness.

Those who left Egypt had all been circumcised, but none of those born after the Exodus, during the years in the wilderness, had been circumcised.

The Israelites had traveled in the wilderness for forty years until all the men who were old enough to fight in battle when they left Egypt had died. For they had disobeyed the Lord, and the Lord vowed he would not let them enter the land he had sworn to give us—a land flowing with milk and honey.

Is there a requirement to walk with the Lord, of course there is. Everyone who walked with the Lord in the scriptures needed to fulfill the requirement.

Before Christ came it was a shadow of what was to come and it was relevant and acceptable in heavens. When Christ was revealed, the reality was now revealed and the real requirement was established.

John 3:3,5

Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.”

Jesus replied, “I assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit.

Matthew 4:17

From then on Jesus began to preach, “Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near.”

Acts 2:38-39

Peter replied, “Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

This promise is to you, to your children, and to those far away—all who have been called by the Lord our God.”

Every kingdom has it's requirements just as we have in the secular world, there is a requirement to be part of any kingdom.

When you become a part there is also rules and regulations that guide every kingdom.

From the time of creation it has always been about obedience!

Adam fell because he drifted away from obedience.

The children of Israel fell because they refused to walk in obedience.

Jesus said:

John 14:15

“If you love me, obey my commandments.

Dear child of God, there are requirements to walk with God, disciplines that you do not toil with, they are actually for your own good.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.

Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.

Never for once think that you are the one in charge, yes you have been given authority but you yet report to the Heavenly Father.

Immediately Joshua fulfilled the requirement, the leader of the Lord's Heavenly army came to the scene:

Joshua 5:13-15

When Joshua was near the town of Jericho, he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with sword in hand. Joshua went up to him and demanded, “Are you friend or foe?”

“Neither one,” he replied. “I am the commander of the Lord’s army.”At this, Joshua fell with his face to the ground in reverence. “I am at your command,” Joshua said. “What do you want your servant to do?”

The commander of the Lord’s army replied, “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy.” And Joshua did as he was told.

When your obedience is complete the Lord is ready to revenge every disobedience against you.

You must always be in your place of assignment, meeting your requirement.

Lest God begin to ask "where are you?", because you are missing from your seat or place of assignment.

Luke 12:42-43

And the Lord replied, “A faithful, sensible servant is one to whom the master can give the responsibility of managing his other household servants and feeding them.

If the master returns and finds that the servant has done a good job, there will be a reward.

There are requirements brethren, we cannot live our lives carelessly.

Paul explained it in his letter to the Ephesians:

Ephesians 5:15-20

So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise.

Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days.

Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do.

Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit,

singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts.

And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

O help us Good Lord.

We will be found worthy.

PRAYER

Lord God, keep me in total obedience to You. Help me Lord to be faithful in all things, keeping to the requirements necessary to walk with You. I am that branch that bears it's fruit in due season, pruned by You to bear more fruits. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.

He calls us blessed.

Love
