THE CHOICE IS YOURS

Deuteronomy 30:15,19

“Now listen! Today I am giving you a choice between life and death, between prosperity and disaster.

“Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live!


Moses told the people of Israel that they had a choice - life or death.


What was the package of life?


Deuteronomy 30:20

You can make this choice by loving the Lord your God, obeying him, and committing yourself firmly to him. This is the key to your life. And if you love and obey the Lord, you will live long in the land the lord swore to give your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”


What was the package of death?


Deuteronomy 30:17-18

“But if your heart turns away and you refuse to listen, and if you are drawn away to serve and worship other gods,

then I warn you now that you will certainly be destroyed. You will not live a long, good life in the land you are crossing the Jordan to occupy.


Listen, life is all about choice and choices!


It has been like that even from the beginning.


Adam was given everything to enjoy just one thing was not for him for it would lead him to death, yet he chose that one!


Everyone living after the revelation of Christ also has two choices: eternal life by receiving God salvation in Christ Jesus or to contend with sin and death by rejecting Him. Everyone must make this choice once they hear it.


Listen, every part of our lives is a function of choices. Truly there are things that are not within our control for instance; who gives birth to us or where we are born or the people that come our way as we journey through life, however we hold the choice to what we make out of it, who we would want to make close friends, where we go and of course what we do with our time, treasure and talents.


Listen, those who are excelling in their different fields are those who chose to take action yesterday investing their time and energy to prune their gifts, learn the trade or study that field.


Those who played away their time or those who ate their seeds would not expect to have anything or champion any field when their tomorrow comes. It is all a choice.

The same way the children of Israel had a choice of life and death, we who are believers today also have a choice to make.


Romans 8:6-9

So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.

For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God’s laws, and it never will.

That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God.

But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you. (And remember that those who do not have the Spirit of Christ living in them do not belong to him at all.)


Galatians 5:16,25

So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves.

Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives


We have the choice of either walking in the Spirit or walking in the flesh.


We must choose to walk in the Spirit for there lies life.


Make the right choices today!


Help us Good Lord.


PRAYER

O Lord I choose to walk in Your Spirit, I live in total obedience to You for in You is life. Help me Lord to stay faithful to the very end. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.


He calls us blessed.

Remember: God is in control.

As we go through the 11th month of this year of accomplishment, let us be reminded. When it seems to hurt so much, or it all looks quiet and alone, when it appears not to work out.
