TESTIFY TO THEM
Joshua 4:6-7
We will use these stones to build a memorial. In the future your children will ask you, ‘What do these stones mean?’
Then you can tell them, ‘They remind us that the Jordan River stopped flowing when the Ark of the lord’s Covenant went across.’ These stones will stand as a memorial among the people of Israel forever.”
There is need to keep a memory of the good things the Lord did in the life of our fathers. From time, parents passed down to their children by word of mouth record of happenings during their time.
Not trying to fault those who yet believe in generational curses, can I ask, "What of generational blessings?"
Especially in Africa there is this tendency to hold on so much on generation curses, that is the flowing down the generational lineage of the consequences of an ancestor's action.
What of the consequences of their good action, doesn't that count?
Ezekiel 18:19-20
“‘What?’ you ask. ‘Doesn’t the child pay for the parent’s sins?’ No! For if the child does what is just and right and keeps my decrees, that child will surely live.
The person who sins is the one who will die. The child will not be punished for the parent’s sins, and the parent will not be punished for the child’s sins. Righteous people will be rewarded for their own righteous behavior, and wicked people will be punished for their own wickedness.
When the people of Israel sinned they paid for their wrong, it was those twenty years and above, that is those who were matured enough to know what they were doing that perished in the wilderness!
So, can we make it a habit to keep in memory God's great work in our lives. Can we let our children and all young ones learn about God's wondrous work.
Let them glorify the Heavenly Father by default and not the enemy. Selah
Psalms 78:3-4
stories we have heard and known, stories our ancestors handed down to us.
We will not hide these truths from our children; we will tell the next generation
about the glorious deeds of the Lord, about his power and his mighty wonders.
Let us make a norm of teaching our children about God's wondrous work in the lives of our ancestors and in our lives also. Here the good news begins in our homes.
Beginning from our homes:
Habakkuk 2:14
For as the waters fill the sea, the earth will be filled with an awareness of the glory of the Lord.
Our testimonies shall abound.
Glory to God.
PRAYER
I testify of Your goodness O Loving Father, in my life and my family, I will pass the testimony through the generations. Your goodness keeps running after me day after day. Truly I am blessed. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.
He calls us blessed.
Love
@the watcher.
