GOD'S PLAN REVEALED

Deuteronomy 29:29

“The Lord our God has secrets known to no one. We are not accountable for them, but we and our children are accountable forever for all that he has revealed to us, so that we may obey all the terms of these instructions.

Moses was reminding the people of Israel about their covenant in the law and how it was not for them alone but also the children that will come after them. He emphasized that this included all the curses:

Deuteronomy 29:12-15

You are standing here today to enter into the covenant of the Lord your God. The Lord is making this covenant, including the curses.

By entering into the covenant today, he will establish you as his people and confirm that he is your God, just as he promised you and as he swore to your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

“But you are not the only ones with whom I am making this covenant with its curses.

I am making this covenant both with you who stand here today in the presence of the Lord our God, and also with the future generations who are not standing here today.

We have established over the study of the book of Deuteronomy that these curses are not for us, neither was the law. They were to be till they were fulfilled and Christ was the fulfilment.

Listen, we only know and see things as they are revealed. The law and prophets reigned until Christ was revealed.

This was what Moses explained in the last verse (29):

Deuteronomy 29:29

Jesus said:

Matthew 11:11-13

“I tell you the truth, of all who have ever lived, none is greater than John the Baptist. Yet even the least person in the Kingdom of Heaven is greater than he is!

And from the time John the Baptist began preaching until now, the Kingdom of Heaven has been forcefully advancing, and violent people are attacking it.

For before John came, all the prophets and the law of Moses looked forward to this present time.

John brought something higher than the law and prophets, that was - baptism unto repentance. Yet it was not even what was to be revealed, the main thing was still to be revealed.

That which was hidden over the years was about to be revealed. Listen to Jesus:

Matthew 11:25-30

At that time Jesus prayed this prayer: “O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, thank you for hiding these things from those who think themselves wise and clever, and for revealing them to the childlike.

Yes, Father, it pleased you to do it this way!

“My Father has entrusted everything to me. No one truly knows the Son except the Father, and no one truly knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.”

Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.

Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”

For Moses knew that there was something greater than the laws and the prophets, that those were only the announcement of what was to come.

It was hidden for even the powers of darkness and Satan had no clue!

1 Corinthians 2:7-10

No, the wisdom we speak of is the mystery of God—his plan that was previously hidden, even though he made it for our ultimate glory before the world began.

But the rulers of this world have not understood it; if they had, they would not have crucified our glorious Lord.

That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, 

“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined 

what God has prepared for those who love him.”

But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets.

Glory to God. 

So just as it is written in the book of Hebrews, Christ brought about the fulfilment of what God had planned from the beginning, the salvation of man, and by God's Spirit we live in the fulfilment.

Hebrews 1:1-3

Long ago God spoke many times and in many ways to our ancestors through the prophets.

And now in these final days, he has spoken to us through his Son. God promised everything to the Son as an inheritance, and through the Son he created the universe.

The Son radiates God’s own glory and expresses the very character of God, and he sustains everything by the mighty power of his command. When he had cleansed us from our sins, he sat down in the place of honor at the right hand of the majestic God in heaven.

So God has revealed His eternal plan for us in Christ Jesus. We must not return to ignorance or bondage again.

Instead we live in the new life we have in Christ Jesus, totally set free from every curse but blessed with all spiritual blessings.

Glory to God forevermore.

PRAYER

I am grateful Dear Father for being part of the benefactors of You eternal blessings. You revealed them in the revelation of Your Son. I am a partaker because of Christ Jesus, thus I take full privilege. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.

He calls us blessed.
