DON'T BE THE REBELLIOUS
Deuteronomy 32:6,15,20
Is this the way you repay the Lord, you foolish and senseless people?
Isn’t he your Father who created you?
Has he not made you and established you?
“But Israel soon became fat and unruly; the people grew heavy, plump, and stuffed!
Then they abandoned the God who had made them; they made light of the Rock of their salvation.
He said, ‘I will abandon them; then see what becomes of them.
For they are a twisted generation, children without integrity.
The children of Israel were the spotlight, why?
Deuteronomy 32:8-11
When the Most High assigned lands to the nations, when he divided up the human race,
he established the boundaries of the peoples according to the number in his heavenly court.
“For the people of Israel belong to the Lord; Jacob is his special possession.
He found them in a desert land, in an empty, howling wasteland.
He surrounded them and watched over them; he guarded them as he would guard his own eyes.
Like an eagle that rouses her chicks and hovers over her young,
so he spread his wings to take them up and carried them safely on his pinions.
This was Moses singing the song he received concerning the children of Israel, they were chosen specially of the Lord, however, they were prone to rebellion so:
Deuteronomy 31:20-22
For I will bring them into the land I swore to give their ancestors—a land flowing with milk and honey. There they will become prosperous, eat all the food they want, and become fat. But they will begin to worship other gods; they will despise me and break my covenant.
And when great disasters come down on them, this song will stand as evidence against them, for it will never be forgotten by their descendants. I know the intentions of these people, even now before they have entered the land I swore to give them.”
So that very day Moses wrote down the words of the song and taught it to the Israelites.
Yes the rebellion of Israel was predicted before they did, they also showed the signs as they journeyed to the promised land, it was so bad that the entire adult generation did not get to the promised land except two of them.
It is obvious that nothing good comes out of rebellion against God. What exactly is the alternative?
What really does the world have to offer, if after all it's perishable gifts, the soul is lost?
This is the question we need to ask ourselves as believers.
There are three major enemies of man:
The world, the flesh and the devil.
When we say the devil, we include all principalities and powers.
Jesus said:
John 8:44
For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies.
John 10:10a
The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy.
When anyone rebels against God they run into the hands of the enemies of man, and they only thing the enemy can offer is what they have, destruction!
The errors of the children of Israel should be the caution and lesson for every believer. We must not make the same mistake.
We must remain faithful, no matter what the enemy, the flesh and the world throws at us.
The trick is not different from the one used at the beginning, just as Jesus said, when the enemy lies they lie in consistency with their character. Don't fall for it, stay faithful to the Lord, to the smallest thing.
The Lord will always be faithful to us.
We win.
PRAYER
Glory to Your name Heavenly Lord, for I will not fall to the plans of my enemies, I remain faithful, I cannot rebel against You Lord. You know and have what is best for me both for my today and into eternity, help me Dear Lord, keep me faithful and true. I am a winner. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.
He calls us blessed.
Love
