OUR WAY

Deuteronomy 12:1,4-5

“These are the decrees and regulations you must be careful to obey when you live in the land that the Lord, the God of your ancestors, is giving you. You must obey them as long as you live.

“Do not worship the Lord your God in the way these pagan peoples worship their gods.

Rather, you must seek the Lord your God at the place of worship he himself will choose from among all the tribes—the place where his name will be honored.


Moses admonished the people to be careful of how they worshipped God. They were not to follow the examples of the nations they were going to displace in the promised land.


Moses told them that they worshipped anyhow they wished because they were yet to enter the promised land, however when they get in, they had to follow the procedures:


Deuteronomy 12:8-9,30-32

“Your pattern of worship will change. Today all of you are doing as you please,

because you have not yet arrived at the place of rest, the land the Lord your God is giving you as your special possession.

do not fall into the trap of following their customs and worshiping their gods. Do not inquire about their gods, saying, ‘How do these nations worship their gods? I want to follow their example.’

You must not worship the Lord your God the way the other nations worship their gods, for they perform for their gods every detestable act that the Lord hates. They even burn their sons and daughters as sacrifices to their gods.

“So be careful to obey all the commands I give you. You must not add anything to them or subtract anything from them.


As believers we must understand that we are different from the world. We are not to follow the ways of the world. We have our own ways and they are the ways of the Lord - the ways of the kingdom.


Paul wrote by the inspiration of the Spirit:


Romans 12:1-2

And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.


We have our own way as children of God, let no one tell you otherwise.


Yes you come the way you are, however, you do not remain the way you came.


2 Corinthians 5:17

This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!


A new person is born, a new lifestyle. God's lifestyle!


As basic as this teaching is, many are yet to get it right. Even supposed pastors and ministers are yet to get it right!


They are trapped in the world and all it's antics. They were saved (if they really were) and got themselves entangled again. What a failure!


The life we have after our new birth is hid in Christ Jesus, He is our foundation, our Rock.


1 Corinthians 1:30-31

God has united you with Christ Jesus. For our benefit God made him to be wisdom itself. Christ made us right with God; he made us pure and holy, and he freed us from sin.

Therefore, as the Scriptures say, “If you want to boast, boast only about the Lord.”


We have our way, we should be the light showing people in darkness the way and not the other way round.


Let your children know this truth, let those under your influence understand this truth.


We are entering our rest and we must be restored in Christ Jesus.


Live your way, the way of Christ.


All believers need to know this, the church need to be it. We must walk our way, our way is the way of the Lord.


Help us Good Lord.


PRAYER

Dear Loving Father, help me live Your way, that which You have established in Christ Jesus. May I continue to walk in the path of victory. I am blessed, empowered and favoured. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.


He calls us blessed.

DO UNTO OTHERS . . .

Matthew 7:12 "Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets. It is hypocritical of us to expect people to stand with us when we are experiencing challenges yet when we see others face their own challenges, we begin to imagine what they must have done wrong or maybe they annoyed God or did one evil or the other instead of reaching out to help as we would desire others to do for us. The same thing goes for prosperity, when the Lord opens a door for us and we have abundance of wealth or a breakthrough we expect others to rejoice with us, more so, some would even find it hard to give to others. What is our reaction when someone else gets this breakthrough, do we get suddenly suspicious without reason. Do we expect the person to reach out to us? MY YEAR OF FULFILMENT

Psalms 57:2 I cry out to God Most High, to God who will fulfill his purpose for me. We just finished the book of 1Samuel, in this book we see the cry of Israel for a king and how God raised Saul to rule them. We also saw how Saul disobeyed God and lost kingship for himself and his generation. He did not stop there, he went on to seek for the death of David, whom he saw as the next heir of the throne. In chapter 31, the last chapter, we see how Saul and all his sons and men were killed, it was tragic, however it was as a sign of relief for David. We could go on counting all the struggles and difficulties we faced in the past year. No, we should not, we should begin to look at all the positives, remembering all the good things God has done for us. If He promised it, He will do it and that is what we hold onto as we go through this year.
