OBEDIENCE FOR YOUR NEXT LEVEL

Deuteronomy 4:4-6

But all of you who were faithful to the Lord your God are still alive today—every one of you.

“Look, I now teach you these decrees and regulations just as the Lord my God commanded me, so that you may obey them in the land you are about to enter and occupy.

Obey them completely, and you will display your wisdom and intelligence among the surrounding nations. When they hear all these decrees, they will exclaim, ‘How wise and prudent are the people of this great nation!’

The people were about to enter the promise land. Moses admonished them. He reminded them of what the Lord had instructed them through him. He emphasized the importance of obedience as they enter the promised land.

This is also a very important admonition for all believers.

Believers are suppose to be conscious of their obedience when they are about to enter another level.

It is not just about praying for a breakthrough, promotion etc, are we ready with the right character and disposition for our next level? Do we carry the capacity in terms of virtue to occupy that realm?

*Joseph was prepared and found ready

*Daniel was prepared and found ready

Are you ready?

Many crowd miracle programmes time and again, they need to ask themselves the question.

Are you prepared in obedience for the next level.

O help us Good Lord.

One thing was common with these people who were prepared. They advertised God to the nations they were assigned to.

What will your own testimony be?

Look at our opening verses:

The children of Israel were supposed to live so faithfully that they would attract nations to seek the Lord. 

Deuteronomy 4:6-8

Obey them completely, and you will display your wisdom and intelligence among the surrounding nations. When they hear all these decrees, they will exclaim, ‘How wise and prudent are the people of this great nation!’

For what great nation has a god as near to them as the lord our God is near to us whenever we call on him?

And what great nation has decrees and regulations as righteous and fair as this body of instructions that I am giving you today?

What happened, they did the opposite.

Look at nations who had the motto: "In God we Trust", in sidelining the godly path they are becoming more of a mockery than "great" that they should be? Prayer has been almost completely taken away from schools. The first ten commandments which was the foundation of almost all her laws have been taken down from places were it was displayed. What is the result? Young people are now prison bound, abominable acts are now being accepted as legitimate and confusion abounds everywhere.

Children are not allowed to be children anymore, they are already trapped in confusion before they can find their footing. When a nation rejects the way of the Lord, they become a mockery and a toy in the hands of the enemy.

Proverbs 14:34

Godliness makes a nation great,but sin is a disgrace to any people.

If we look back at the errors of Israel as a church. Do we have the moral right to say they did wrong?

What do people say about you and your Christianity? Are people glorifying God because of you or do they wonder at what the good is of being a believer because of your character? Check and change your ways!

We bring Glory to God in proclaiming Christ in all that we do and not the other way around.

In walking in obedience we honour God and display His glory for all to see. Definitely, He shows Himself faithful to us.

Jesus said:

Luke 18:30

will be repaid many times over in this life, and will have eternal life in the world to come.”

It is not about you, it is about Him.

O help us Good Lord.

PRAYER

Dear Loving Father help me to be that person that You want me to be living in full obedience as You take me from one higher level to the next. May I represent You well Lord. Glory to Your name forevermore.

He calls us blessed.
