OBEDIENCE BRINGS BLESSINGS

Deuteronomy 7:11-15

Therefore, you must obey all these commands, decrees, and regulations I am giving you today.

“If you listen to these regulations and faithfully obey them, the lord your God will keep his covenant of unfailing love with you, as he promised with an oath to your ancestors.

He will love you and bless you, and he will give you many children. He will give fertility to your land and your animals. When you arrive in the land he swore to give your ancestors, you will have large harvests of grain, new wine, and olive oil, and great herds of cattle, sheep, and goats.

You will be blessed above all the nations of the earth. None of your men or women will be childless, and all your livestock will bear young.

And the Lord will protect you from all sickness. He will not let you suffer from the terrible diseases you knew in Egypt, but he will inflict them on all your enemies!

The condition was simple: walk in obedience then you stay in blessings. The same condition was given to man at the beginning, as long as He remained in obedience, everything was available for him to enjoy.

Genesis 1:28-29

Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.”

Then God said, “Look! I have given you every seed-bearing plant throughout the earth and all the fruit trees for your food.

The only "but" was if man disobeyed.

The same thing for the children of Israel, to enjoy the blessings of the Lord they had to walk in obedience.

The same things also applies to believers. To enjoy God's presence you must walk in obedience. The believer is not supposed to be over engrossed in the riches and pleasures of the world. The believers priority is God's kingdom and it's righteousness. All other things are additional.

It is for this reason that the enemy would work for believers NOT to walk in disobedience. In doing this the believer does not just lose the blessings of the Lord which has to do with the things of this earth but the more important thing, the blessings of the kingdom.

Jesus said:

Matthew 6:31,33

“So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’

Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

More important than any earthly need is our citizenship of the kingdom of Heaven and we cannot have this without it's righteousness.

All other things are secondary, so the enemy fights for us to walk in disobedience so that we will not have that glory.

That is what happened in the garden of Eden, what the enemy was fighting for was for man to lose his glory and authority. To be displaced from the seat of the heavenly dignitaries where man sat, for he was made in God's image and was the representative of the earth.

In achieving this the enemy now laid claim as god of the earth.

Our blessings are tied to our obedience thus the enemy tries all to take our minds away from God (which can only be achieved through Christ Jesus) so that we will not exercise our authority.

He has failed. For Christ victory is replicated in us. His Spirit in us will always lead us to walk in full obedience to the Heavenly Father and will bring us back on track even if we err.

Psalms 37:23-24

The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.

Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand.

Declare God's full authority over your life today. Determine to walk in full obedience, we will never lose our place in the Heavenly Father.

So help us Good Lord.

Glory to God.

He has helped us.

We walk in obedience.

PRAYER

Glorious Father keep me in full obedience to You. Guide me Dear Father that I will never be away from You both in this life and in the life to come. I walk in obedience and I enjoy Your blessings. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.

He calls us blessed.
