INSTRUCTIONS - YOUR HEART
Deuteronomy 5:29,32-33
Oh, that they would always have hearts like this, that they might fear me and obey all my commands! If they did, they and their descendants would prosper forever.
So Moses told the people, “You must be careful to obey all the commands of the Lord your God, following his instructions in every detail.
Stay on the path that the Lord your God has commanded you to follow. Then you will live long and prosperous lives in the land you are about to enter and occupy.
It is recorded that God desired that man would live in obedience to Him, that is what He desired of the children of Israel:
Deuteronomy 5:29a
Oh, that they would always have hearts like this, that they might fear me and obey all my commands!
The children of Israel were afraid and ready to obey when they saw the splendor of His glory. However take them away from that experience for a moment, they then forget everything about it and do that which they ought not to.
Doesn't this look like what supposed believers do?
In that programme, crusade, prayer meeting, church gatherings etc, there is so much emotion, drama, display, even tears, tongues speaking etc.
However, when they leave the meeting to go into the world they live as if they never experienced God in any way!
That is not what God expects from us!
Jude warned saying:
Jude 1:3-5
Dear friends, I had been eagerly planning to write to you about the salvation we all share. But now I find that I must write about something else, urging you to defend the faith that God has entrusted once for all time to his holy people.
I say this because some ungodly people have wormed their way into your churches, saying that God’s marvelous grace allows us to live immoral lives. The condemnation of such people was recorded long ago, for they have denied our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.
So I want to remind you, though you already know these things, that Jesus first rescued the nation of Israel from Egypt, but later he destroyed those who did not remain faithful.
Christ came to shine light into the world and when He physically left the earth, He dwelt in us that we may continue to shine His light to the whole world.
John 12:46,49-50
I have come as a light to shine in this dark world, so that all who put their trust in me will no longer remain in the dark.
I don’t speak on my own authority. The Father who sent me has commanded me what to say and how to say it.
And I know his commands lead to eternal life; so I say whatever the Father tells me to say.”
No wonder He said:
Matthew 5:14
“You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden.
So the essence of receiving so much from the Lord as we dwell in His presence is to impart positively to the world.
However, when we do NOT walk in obedience to His instructions we sway away from His plans and purpose for us and become unfruitful.
Sin has always been a distraction and the origin of sin is disobedience.
Moses had to remind the people of Israel that their key success in the promised land was obedience to God's instruction.
In the same way the key to our success in God's kingdom on earth is also obedience.
The heart must be given to the Lord. It is not about that outward show but the inner consecration of the heart, just as Christ said:
Matthew 5:8
God blesses those whose hearts are pure, for they will see God.
The disconnect of the heart of man from God is what brings about continuous disobedience and eventually total disconnection from the Lord.
No wonder Paul pleaded:
Romans 12:1-2
And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
The heart is the battle ground, there the battle begins and ends.
That was how the enemy tempted Eve, that was how he also tempted Christ in the wilderness. He also does same today.
When you understand that the battle is about your heart then you already are on the path of victory.
No wonder the wise man revealed:
Proverbs 4:23
Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.
There is no way you will live in full obedience to God if your heart is not consecrated to Him.
Matthew 12:35
A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart.
It is that simple!
Matthew 23:13,28
“What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you shut the door of the Kingdom of Heaven in people’s faces. You won’t go in yourselves, and you don’t let others enter either.
Outwardly you look like righteous people, but inwardly your hearts are filled with hypocrisy and lawlessness.
Listen "Outwardly you look like righteous people, but inwardly your hearts are filled with hypocrisy and lawlessness."
So our message today is:
"give your heart to the Lord"
He will heal you, purify you and fill You with His good things.
Enough of walking with a heart full of evil thoughts, we must release ourselves to God's Spirit.
Remember that the Lord has written His laws in our heart, let us neither rewrite it or give room to the enemy.
Inculcate this to your children and disciples, enough of disjointed christians, enough of disobedience, hypocrisy and rebellion. We build a people that honour the Lord from their heart to their daily living.
Glory to God.
PRAYER
Lord my heart is Yours I give it all to You, I belong to You and I will live in Your obedience. Help me Good Lord, I will never fail, fall or falter, I will please You in all things. I will teach my children, disciples and the whole world same. So help me Good Lord. Glory to Your name Lord forevermore.
He calls us blessed.
Love
@the watcher.
