WHAT IS THE CONTENT OF YOUR HEART
Numbers 25:1-3
While the Israelites were camped at Acacia Grove, some of the men defiled themselves by having sexual relations with local Moabite women.
These women invited them to attend sacrifices to their gods, so the Israelites feasted with them and worshiped the gods of Moab.
In this way, Israel joined in the worship of Baal of Peor, causing the Lord’s anger to blaze against his people.
When some read of the destruction that comes up on a people, they refuse to see the errs and wrongs of the people, their only interest is "Why will a loving God destroy?".
You cannot keep living in iniquity sinning against the Lord God and expect that His grace will abound. Paul asked:
Romans 6:1-2
Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace?
Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it?
It was not acceptable in the old times and it is not now.
Yes they are the children of inheritance those through whom He was to fulfil His promise to Abraham, Issac and Jacob, however, they are not indispensable.
Listen, child of God, God created just one man, who had Glory and sat with other princes in the heavenly realm, never think for once that you who is just a person out of billions living and more who have gone and more to come, is indispensable! Don't get it wrong.
Anyone and any people can be replaced.
Listen,
Exodus 32:9-10
Then the Lord said, “I have seen how stubborn and rebellious these people are.
Now leave me alone so my fierce anger can blaze against them, and I will destroy them. Then I will make you, Moses, into a great nation.”
We are not permitted to live the life of sin and rebellion as children of God.
These people did not have their heart in God. The slightest opportunity was quickly grabbed by them to sin against God.
What unfaithfulness, what rebellion.
It was so bad that even while the Lord was cautioning them and some were already remorseful, someone dared to bring a strange woman into the camp and openly committed the sin:
Numbers 25:6-8
Just then one of the Israelite men brought a Midianite woman into his tent, right before the eyes of Moses and all the people, as everyone was weeping at the entrance of the Tabernacle.
When Phinehas son of Eleazar and grandson of Aaron the priest saw this, he jumped up and left the assembly. He took a spear
and rushed after the man into his tent. Phinehas thrust the spear all the way through the man’s body and into the woman’s stomach. So the plague against the Israelites was stopped,
What audacity, what a disrespect to the Lord.
As I said earlier many unsteady minds will only look at the judgment meted out to the sinful man, but will overlook the abomination he committed.
Now to us as believers, are we any better?
These people did not give their heart to God, so at any slight opportunity they submitted to sin, rebellion and idolatry!
Have we truly given our hearts to the Lord.
If our thoughts are visible to everyone as we go about our daily activities, will we be able to walk about freely.
What is the content of your heart?
So people see you as good, O that quiet, reserved brethren, but when the Lord searches your heart it is filled with bitterness, envy, malice and wrath.
What is the content of your heart?
Are you that jovial, vibrant believer that everyone sees but in your closet all that goes through your heart is evil lust, anger and other forms of evil devices.
What is the content of your heart?
Listen, temptations and events will bring out the evil you hide in your heart, let it go right now, emancipate yourself.

Colossians 3:5-10,13-14
So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world.
Because of these sins, the anger of God is coming.
You used to do these things when your life was still part of this world.
But now is the time to get rid of anger, rage, malicious behavior, slander, and dirty language.
Don’t lie to each other, for you have stripped off your old sinful nature and all its wicked deeds.
Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him.
Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.
Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.
Brethren, what is the content of your heart.
Remember what Christ said:
Matthew 5:8
God blesses those whose hearts are pure, for they will see God.
Don't expect to see God, if you carry an impure heart.
Remember:
Proverbs 4:23
Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.
If you are yet asking, "What do I do?", listen.
(read the entire chapter carefully and meditatively)
Romans 12:1-2,17-19,21
And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
Never pay back evil with more evil. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honorable.
Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone.
Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say,
“I will take revenge;
I will pay them back,”
says the lord.
Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good.
I love this extract from Cece Winans' song - "a heart like Yours":
**"A heart like Yours, is my desire
A heart like Yours, is what I am searching for
Full of compassion, nothing wrong within
Please hear me Lord, give me a heart like Yours
So much grace
So much kindness
So much faith
For ever true
Strong as the wind
Soft as the shadows
If just once, I could be like you
A heart like Yours, is my desire"**
What is the state of your heart?
Help us Good Lord.
PRAYER
Dear Lord, create in me a clean heart and renew Your Spirit within me. May I not hide anger, malice, hatred and wrath within me while showing a false peaceful face to the world, but let me flow with Your Spirit from within, reflecting outside Your nature of love. May I never err O Dear Father, instead let me please You in all things. Glory to Your name forever.
He calls us blessed.
Love
