TAKE CARE OF YOUR TABERNACLE

Numbers 4:12-14

They must take all the remaining furnishings of the sanctuary and wrap them in a blue cloth, cover them with fine goatskin leather, and place them on the carrying frame.

“They must remove the ashes from the altar for sacrifices and cover the altar with a purple cloth.

All the altar utensils—the firepans, meat forks, shovels, basins, and all the containers—must be placed on the cloth, and a covering of fine goatskin leather must be spread over them. Finally, they must put the carrying poles in place.

Aaron and his sons were given the duty of overseeing the activities of the tabernacle. The Levites were to assist them in doing this, then the Kohathites were to assist but with a restriction. They needed Aaron and his sons to be there so that they don't touch the wrong things and get killed.

What is our tabernacle today?

Our body has become the temple of God and the same way the tabernacle was taken care of, we should do the same today.

The tabernacle was sacred because it was the symbol and evidence of God's presence.

The blue represents heaven and it's surroundings (out of this earth)

The cloths of purple laid on it showed royalty, wealth and power

Scarlet had to do with man and blood, we know this is the sacrifices.

* Blue is the colour of heaven.

* Purple is the color of Royalty.

* Scarlet is the color of man/blood.

Jesus Christ was titled the following:

* The Son of God (heaven/blue)

* The King of Kings and Lord of Lords (royalty/purple)

* The Son of Man (man/blood/scarlet)

Notably, the order of the colours also suggests a hierarchy of three spaces within the "Tent of Meeting" structure.

* Blue represents the Holy of Holies, where God dwelt between the Cherubim.

* Purple represents the Holy Place where the mediating work of the priesthood occurred.

* The scarlet represents the Outer Court, where the sacrifices took place.

John 1:14

So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.

So Christ in us is depicted by the tabernacle/temple of old. The same way they maintained the tabernacle of old we must maintain the new tabernacle were Christ lives.

Romans 12:1-2

And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

Any strange thing coming to touch or occupy the tabernale is signed for death.

Spiritual elders and leaders are available to guide us so as not to make a mistake as we walk in this tabernacle.

However we must be fully committed to Christ whose very presence makes the tabernacle what it is, else it is just like any other building or items.

Are we taking proper care of your tabernacle?

When we gather together as believers is it a well kept tabernacle that converges?

Remember the tools for proper care:

* Study of the word

* Consistent prayers

* Worship

* Life of obedience

* The Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23)

Continue in them to keep your tabernacle well maintained.

May we be worthy of the Lord's presence at all times.

Help us Good Lord.

PRAYER

Dear Heavenly Father my heart is Your home. I give You all of me, for I am rightfully Yours. May I always be in Your presence, enjoying Your Fatherhood as I fully submit as a good son.

He calls us blessed.
