SEPARATION AND LOVE

Numbers 5:2-4,6-7

“Command the people of Israel to remove from the camp anyone who has a skin disease or a discharge, or who has become ceremonially unclean by touching a dead person.

This command applies to men and women alike. Remove them so they will not defile the camp in which I live among them.”

So the Israelites did as the Lord had commanded Moses and removed such people from the camp.

“Give the following instructions to the people of Israel: If any of the people—men or women—betray the Lord by doing wrong to another person, they are guilty.

They must confess their sin and make full restitution for what they have done, adding an additional 20 percent and returning it to the person who was wronged.

We have established from scriptures that Christ is the end of the law and that in walking in Him we actually walk in God. We walk in love so we cannot be faulted by the law for the law is only a shadow of things to come and it has been fulfilled in Christ Jesus.

So when we examine the law we do not do so with veils over our eyes but in Christ where the veil is removed.

Moses gave God's command for the separation of those who have been defiled from the camp. The reason is obvious, they could spread their infection to everyone in the camp and thus bring about an epidemic.

Today we do not just talk of a body infection but a heart infection. Christ has saved us from sin, therefore we do not continue in sin anymore.

The church accepts the sinner but the sinner does not remain that way, but is baptized into Christ's death and resurrection and then begins to live the new life in Christ Jesus.

"Come as you are, but do not remain the way you are!"

There must be a separation for us to remain members of Christ body.

It is not enough to identify with a certain sect or denomination, No! Christ has only one church and it is universal, it is it's membership that counts not Roman Catholic, Anglican, Baptist, Pentecostal or whatever name you call it. There is only one church where Christ rules as Husband, no other has a place there. Christ remains the only authority, not Mary, dead saints, angels or whoever!

Listen,

Colossians 3:11b

Christ is all that matters, and he lives in all of us.

Acts 16:30-31

Then he brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”

They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, along with everyone in your household.”

John 14:6

Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.

We are defiled if we walk in sin, we are defiled if we seek any other than Christ Jesus as the access to the Heavenly Father!

John 1:1-3,12,17-18

In the beginning the Word already existed.

The Word was with God, and the Word was God.

He existed in the beginning with God.

God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him.

But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.

For the law was given through Moses, but God’s unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ.

No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us.

We must separate ourselves from all false teachings, doctrine and idolatry.

If we are to remain in God's camp we must walk in His truth and remain clean.

The second part of our reading talks of our relationship with others. We must love them, remember, it is the second part of the summary of the law which applies even in the new covenant. Do not take advantage of others. Walk in love with all, yet in wisdom that you will never be drawn to sin.

Colossians 3:5,8-10,12-14,17

So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world.

But now is the time to get rid of anger, rage, malicious behavior, slander, and dirty language.

Don’t lie to each other, for you have stripped off your old sinful nature and all its wicked deeds.

Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him.

Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.

Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.

Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.

And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.

So help us Good Lord.

PRAYER

Thank You Heavenly Father for what You have done for us in Your Son, Yeshua Hamaschiac, Jesus the Christ. In Him we have life and access to You. May I enjoy the full benefit of this both now and in the time to come. Keep me clean and separated for You Dear loving Father.

He calls us blessed.

Love
