GOD of ORDER and PRINCIPLE
Numbers 3:40-41,47-51
Then the Lord said to Moses, “Now count all the firstborn sons in Israel who are one month old or older, and make a list of their names.
The Levites must be reserved for me as substitutes for the firstborn sons of Israel; I am the Lord. And the Levites’ livestock must be reserved for me as substitutes for the firstborn livestock of the whole nation of Israel.”
collect five pieces of silver for each of them (each piece weighing the same as the sanctuary shekel, which equals twenty gerahs).
Give the silver to Aaron and his sons as the redemption price for the extra firstborn sons.”
So Moses collected the silver for redeeming the firstborn sons of Israel who exceeded the number of Levites.
He collected 1,365 pieces of silver on behalf of these firstborn sons of Israel (each piece weighing the same as the sanctuary shekel).
And Moses gave the silver for the redemption to Aaron and his sons, just as the Lord had commanded.
Our God is omnipotent, that is, He has unlimited power and authority.
Yet, He is of order and principle!
We could therefore get something mixed up, like we could say "God can do anything", "What God cannot do does not exist" etc. When this slogan was flying around for some time I understood that it wasn't actually wrong for Christ said:
Matthew 19:26
Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.”
Now this is were people get it wrong!
Nothing is impossible with God, Yes, however will God do evil? No!
Will God punish the good with the evil? No!
Genesis 18:23-25
Abraham approached him and said, “Will you sweep away both the righteous and the wicked?
Suppose you find fifty righteous people living there in the city—will you still sweep it away and not spare it for their sakes?
Surely you wouldn’t do such a thing, destroying the righteous along with the wicked. Why, you would be treating the righteous and the wicked exactly the same! Surely you wouldn’t do that! Should not the Judge of all the earth do what is right?”
Yes God can do all things, however, He is the righteous judge.
He is the God of order and principles as well as the God of Love!
When we understand this, then we have began to understand wisdom and understanding!
Proverbs 4:7
Getting wisdom is the wisest thing you can do!
And whatever else you do, develop good judgment.
This is why when many say statements like: "Why did Christ have to die, God should have just forgiven man and it will be over", also "Why did God not forgive Satan", etc.
They do not understand order, principle and judgment.
Will God cancel His already laid down order and principles? Will He be seen as an unrighteous judge? No!
That is why it is a risk for believers to be taught that they can continue in sin and expect God's grace to abound! Hmmm, be careful "Who do you think you are?"
Listen to Jesus:
Matthew 11:20-24
Then Jesus began to denounce the towns where he had done so many of his miracles, because they hadn’t repented of their sins and turned to God.
“What sorrow awaits you, Korazin and Bethsaida! For if the miracles I did in you had been done in wicked Tyre and Sidon, their people would have repented of their sins long ago, clothing themselves in burlap and throwing ashes on their heads to show their remorse.
I tell you, Tyre and Sidon will be better off on judgment day than you.
“And you people of Capernaum, will you be honored in heaven? No, you will go down to the place of the dead. For if the miracles I did for you had been done in wicked Sodom, it would still be here today.
I tell you, even Sodom will be better off on judgment day than you.”
So dear believer let us understand the extent of what Christ sacrificed for us, let us understand the love that was given, cancelling other ordinances. We must not take it for granted.
That God now dwells with in us and we are custodian of His Spirit like Aaron, his son's and the Levites were of the tabernacle and the sacred items therein, we must be careful.
We remember what happened to the two sons of Aaron who burnt strange fires at the altar.
God who is omnipotent and who is love, gracious and merciful is also God of order and principles. Do not take things for granted.
We cannot then live our lives anyhow we like and expect His grace to yet abound.
We cannot continue in sin and do not have a personal relationship with Him but will want to enjoy His miracles, protection and eternity with Him.
Do not play smart with God, instead dwell in His wisdom.
You could join the crowd to shout this or that, however, the important thing is, where is your heart?
There is no group salvation, there is only a personal salvation!
2 Corinthians 5:10
For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in this earthly body.
Listen, "each", no group!
Your title or position here doesn't matter. Know God for yourself, you could try to play your pastor, family, church folks etc. You cannot play God!
God is yet of order and principle!
2 Timothy 2:19
But God’s truth stands firm like a foundation stone with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and “All who belong to the Lord must turn away from evil.”
God is God!
We must be guarded.
Oh help us Good Lord.
PRAYER
Dear Father Your love and grace is such a huge gift to me, help me Lord not to take it for granted. May I please You in all things, living the life that will bring honour to Your name. I will dwell with you forever.
He calls us blessed.
Love
