DEDICATED FOR SERVICE

Numbers 8:21-22

The Levites purified themselves from sin and washed their clothes, and Aaron lifted them up and presented them to the Lord as a special offering. He then offered a sacrifice to purify them and make them right with the Lord.

After that the Levites went into the Tabernacle to perform their duties, assisting Aaron and his sons. So they carried out all the commands that the Lord gave Moses concerning the Levites.

The Levites were chosen by God to serve in the tabernacle. God said they were to replace all Israel's first born who were to be His. This was as a result of God saving them for Himself when He took away all first born of the Egyptians.

Notice two things about the dedication, Moses who was God's representative had to present them, the people also had to present them to God as an offering:

Numbers 8:10-11

When you present the Levites before the Lord, the people of Israel must lay their hands on them.

Raising his hands, Aaron must then present the Levites to the lord as a special offering from the people of Israel, thus dedicating them to the Lord’s service.

One of the hinderance that has not allowed the full manifestation of the church in our times is division. Where there is no "one mind", but one sect either claiming to be more authentic or superior to another. Thus there is no collective move towards fulfilling God's will on earth.

It got so distracted in the early years of political church, where it seemed God was replaced by "mother church", however liberty came when certain ones arose and opposed the deviation from scriptures.

We definitely understand that the evolution of sects was as a result of the dispersion of believers to all other parts of the world because of persecution. This was necessary for the gospel to reach the whole earth. 

However, as the gospel spread, its truth must not be distorted, diluted or tampered with in any way.

Paul said:

Galatians 1:6-8

I am shocked that you are turning away so soon from God, who called you to himself through the loving mercy of Christ. You are following a different way that pretends to be the Good News

but is not the Good News at all. You are being fooled by those who deliberately twist the truth concerning Christ.

Let God’s curse fall on anyone, including us or even an angel from heaven, who preaches a different kind of Good News than the one we preached to you.

The gospel was not meant to be mixed with culture and tradition. You have to choose which to follow.

So, who are those separated specially for God's work today just as the Levites were in the time of Moses?

The truth is that all believers are, however we have different functions, in different capacities and levels.

Ephesians 4:11-13

Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers.

Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ.

This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ.

These offices must be specially taken care of if the church is to grow.

It is not just a part-time manifestation but a continuous presence of God's Spirit to edify the church.

There must be believers dedicated for service.

Acts 6:2-4

So the Twelve called a meeting of all the believers. They said, “We apostles should spend our time teaching the word of God, not running a food program.

And so, brothers, select seven men who are well respected and are full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will give them this responsibility.

Then we apostles can spend our time in prayer and teaching the word.”

It is time the church awaken, a lot is happening in the world, evils are being spread especially to children and young minds, do we see the danger of the next generation.

Enough of sleep, enough of attacking one another, enough of accumulating personal wealth, status or relevance, there is work to be done.

Enough of jamborees and concerts, but true revival gatherings, crusades and rigorous evangelism in all medias and on site.

Enough of selfish prayer routines for personal and immediate family gain, how will all these bring a reward for you in the presence of the Lord. Where is God's love when you are too busy wishing for personal gain alone and having no place in what God is doing in His kingdom on earth? Oh, when will all these foolishness stop and we begin to truly live for the Lord!

The clock keeps ticking, the enemies are still strategizing, working and implementing!

While you are pursuing vain enemies, the real enemy is at work and has kept you tied down pursuing selfish gains!

It is time for the real prayer points to be set. Raise up the true alter of prayer.

Wake up church!

Wake up!

It is time to be dedicated in service.

We need to get back on track!

Help us Good Lord.

PRAYER

O Lord, You said the gate of hell will not prevail against the church. Help us arise from our slumber and be dedicated in true service that Your Spirit will take over us, and the earth shall be filled with Your Glory. Help us O Lord.

He calls us blessed.
