DAILY UNDER HIS COVER

Numbers 10:34-36

As they moved on each day, the cloud of the Lord hovered over them.

And whenever the Ark set out, Moses would shout, “Arise, O  Lord, and let your enemies be scattered! Let them flee before you!”

And when the Ark was set down, he would say, “Return, O Lord, to the countless thousands of Israel!”

The best way to move in this life is under the cover of the Almighty.  He guides you, fights your battles and keeps you in good health and peace.

The children of Israel were the example of how the Lord leads His own through the battle of this life.

It is the privilege of everyone who comes to God to be covered and protected by Him.

Psalm 91, my mum's favourite psalm as she raised us, reads thus:

Psalms 91:1-3

Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

This I declare about the Lord: 

He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him.

For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease.

No safer place than under the Lord's canopy.

We as believers should be led by God all the way. We have an advantage. We have been made clean by the sacrifice of Christ and He has put His Holy Spirit in us to guide and help us.

John 14:16-18

And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you.

He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you.

No, I will not abandon you as orphans—I will come to you.

Even if everyone abandons you because of your faith, you are not alone as a believer, you have God's presence with you. 

Then we have other brethren, we are expected to support one another, this is why we gather.

Hebrews 10:25

And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.

Our voices come together in prayer, we edify one another with the word of God, receive prophesy by the Spirit, worship together and help one another physically. All these through God working in us.

This is the template for the believers' journey through this life and every sect and all locations of the church should follow this template, it is the revelation of the shadow, which is what the record of the children of Israel's experience of God was.

Ephesians 4:2-6

Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love.

Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace.

For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future.

There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all, in all, and living through all.

All these are important for we must understand the Father's condition for His presence to continue with us- OBEDIENCE!

Recall that God's condition for His presence to be with the Israelites as the journey was for them to obey.

What was Christ condition for God's Spirit to dwell in us - OBEDIENCE!

John 14:15-17

“If you love me, obey my commandments.

And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you.

He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you.

For continuance of God's presence, we must walk in obedience. This is as individuals and also as a body.

Forget all the hype and noise, there may be large crowds but God presence will not be there if they live in obedience. Selah

Come under His canopy today, stay there, keep your family there, be there as a church. We will have victory.

PRAYER

O help us Lord to walk in total obedience to You. Let Your presence Dear Father, continually dwell in us. Lead us by Your Spirit that we will remain safe, prosperous and fruitful according to Your word.

He calls us blessed.
