COMPLAINING?
Numbers 11:1,4-6
Soon the people began to complain about their hardship, and the lord heard everything they said. Then the Lord’s anger blazed against them, and he sent a fire to rage among them, and he destroyed some of the people in the outskirts of the camp.
Then the foreign rabble who were traveling with the Israelites began to crave the good things of Egypt. And the people of Israel also began to complain. “Oh, for some meat!” they exclaimed.
“We remember the fish we used to eat for free in Egypt. And we had all the cucumbers, melons, leeks, onions, and garlic we wanted.
But now our appetites are gone. All we ever see is this manna!”
Truly it is not easy to go on one diet day after day, travelling through the desert. The people began to complain.
Yes they are right that they had variety of food when they were in Egypt, however, they were slaves!
They were used as forced labour, beaten and ofcourse killed!
It is easy to just remember the foods and forget the bondage!
Many were trapped in sin doing things that were not convenient and having their way in the world, but it is an open prison where they cannot be free, till they let go of the vanity. When Christ comes He sets you free and takes you out of that prison giving you access to the Heavenly Father.
It is foolishness to begin to crave for what you thought you enjoyed while still in bondage.
This is were they missed it, they were supposed to be inconvenienced a while, get to know their God, then come into the land filled with milk and honey.
Exodus 3:16-17
“Now go and call together all the elders of Israel. Tell them, ‘Yahweh, the God of your ancestors—the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—has appeared to me. He told me, “I have been watching closely, and I see how the Egyptians are treating you.
I have promised to rescue you from your oppression in Egypt. I will lead you to a land flowing with milk and honey—the land where the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites now live.”’
They were supposed to be discomforted for a while then move into splendor, but their stubbornness, inconsistency and constant complains kept them in the wilderness for forty (40) years.
Moses himself even became irritated by their complains.
The same way, some believers do NOT want to go through the training period, they avoid the spiritual exercises that will make them ready and prepared for the next level, yet they wonder why they cannot get to the next level.
Are we not also complaining?
A little discomfort, persecution or trail we let all loose. We wail and complain of how difficult the christian race is.
1 Peter 5:10
In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation.
Funny enough some preachers talk against suffering, either they are misinterpreted or it is an intentional delusion, the err in convincing anyone that they will not face challenges. Believers will! The promise is that the the Lord will deliver you out of them all and give you victory.
Psalms 34:19
The righteous person faces many troubles, but the Lord comes to the rescue each time.
Jesus made it clear to His disciples:
John 16:33
I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”
Are you still complaining? Try something else, think of all the Lord has done for you. Ask "What exactly have I done for the Lord with the life He has given me?"
The health, the money, the time, the wisdom etc, that the Lord has given you, how have you used them for his glory?
Those who really make impact have no time to complain. They are busy finishing the current assignment waiting for instructions for the next one.
What are you doing?
Are you among the complainers?
Rather, are you among those making impact and fulfilling purpose?
PRAYER
Dear Lord help me see Your purpose in all I experience in this life, may I never be a complainer but an achiever. You will always give me victory. I fulfill purpose, I please You Father. I am a fruitful vine.
Help us Good Lord.
He calls us blessed.
Love
@the watcher
