WHEN CHRIST STEPS IN!

Leviticus 13:2,45-46

“If anyone has a swelling or a rash or discolored skin that might develop into a serious skin disease, that person must be brought to Aaron the priest or to one of his sons.

“Those who suffer from a serious skin disease must tear their clothing and leave their hair uncombed. They must cover their mouth and call out, ‘Unclean! Unclean!’

As long as the serious disease lasts, they will be ceremonially unclean. They must live in isolation in their place outside the camp.

Medical counsel and guidance were giving as part of the law from Moses at that time, reading through Leviticus chapters 13 and 14 you see what we now know as "infection control", to ensure that there was no epidemic.

However let us look at one part of that instruction and how a twist in it revealed what happens when Christ steps in.

Look at verse 45:

Leviticus 13:45

“Those who suffer from a serious skin disease must tear their clothing and leave their hair uncombed. They must cover their mouth and call out, ‘Unclean! Unclean!’

You will see that one of the reason for them to call out that they were unclean was to keep people away so that they also do not get infected.

Let us go to Luke chapter 17.

Luke 17:11-13

As Jesus continued on toward Jerusalem, he reached the border between Galilee and Samaria.

As he entered a village there, ten lepers stood at a distance,

crying out, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”

Do you see the twist?

Instead of calling out their predicament, they recognizing the Messiah, they then instead called out for mercy.

What happened next?

Christ gave them an instruction.

Luke 17:14

He looked at them and said, “Go show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed of their leprosy.

It was as if Christ was telling them to do what the law commanded. They could have said: "the priest has already declared us unclean, why go back to him". It had to take faith to follow that instruction.

The faith step led to their healing.

Listen, when Christ comes into a situation it must bow, nothing is to big for Him to handle, all you need to do is to turn it over to Him, wait for instruction(depending on what the matter is), the victory becomes yours.

Today, I turn it over to You my Saviour, I no longer cry and worry over it. Instead of confessing the problems, I cry out instead to the Lord for help, I listen for instructions as I continue in prayer, worship and good deeds. Victory is mine.

Glory to God forevermore.

He calls us blessed.

Love
