THE PRICE OF THE OFFICE

Leviticus 21:16-17

Then the Lord said to Moses,

“Give the following instructions to Aaron: In all future generations, none of your descendants who has any defect will qualify to offer food to his God.

Reading through Leviticus 24, we see God's instructions for priest and how stringent it is. Yes you hear words like "the priest must . . .". We see repercussion for every command given. Priesthood was a serious business.

What do we have today? People who claim that they where called into ministry living more disgusting lives than normal believers. They are first to say things like,

* it doesn't matter

* no one is holy

* do not judge

* we are only humans

.* God understands

etc

You then wonder who forced them to carry the mantle

I always say this:"no one is forced into ministry". Therefore if you must be in ministry you must live up to the responsibility and be accountable.

Some others would recount: "God do not call the qualified but qualify those He calls", this is true however, He has qualified you, you mustn't unqualified yourself after that. Selah

2 Timothy 2:19

But God’s truth stands firm like a foundation stone with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and “All who belong to the Lord must turn away from evil.”

1 Peter 4:17

For the time has come for judgment, and it must begin with God’s household. And if judgment begins with us, what terrible fate awaits those who have never obeyed God’s Good News?

When scriptures say that judgment will start from the house of the Lord, it is a warning to us not to take for granted the office we occupy but to remain faithful and accountable.

Enough of believers being convicted of things we ought to be correcting. It is time we live the life we profess, we have given enough excuses, we have played around enough. Let us arise and understand that we also have a price to pay.

Romans 2:1-3

You may think you can condemn such people, but you are just as bad, and you have no excuse! When you say they are wicked and should be punished, you are condemning yourself, for you who judge others do these very same things.

And we know that God, in his justice, will punish anyone who does such things.

Since you judge others for doing these things, why do you think you can avoid God’s judgment when you do the same things?

PRAYER

Dear Father keep me in Your holiness, let Your righteousness in Christ Jesus reflect in my everyday life, I will be found faithful and spotless now and at the end of it all.

So help us Good Lord.

He calls us blessed.

Love
