HE TURNS IT AROUND

Leviticus 15:19,25,32-33

“Whenever a woman has her menstrual period, she will be ceremonially unclean for seven days. Anyone who touches her during that time will be unclean until evening.

“If a woman has a flow of blood for many days that is unrelated to her menstrual period, or if the blood continues beyond the normal period, she is ceremonially unclean. As during her menstrual period, the woman will be unclean as long as the discharge continues.

These are the instructions for dealing with anyone who has a bodily discharge—a man who is unclean because of an emission of semen

or a woman during her menstrual period. It applies to any man or woman who has a bodily discharge, and to a man who has sexual intercourse with a woman who is ceremonially unclean.”

Reading through Leviticus 15 and other chapters about clean and unclean scenarios we begin to see how frail man had become because of the death that came with the original sin.

No wonder scripture records:

Proverbs 14:34b

but sin is a disgrace to any people.

Bodily discharge makes a person unclean even those who come in contact with them.

When we consider this we begin to understand and comprehend why Christ came and what He came to do.

Luke 4:18-19

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor.

He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free, and that the time of the Lord’s favor has come.”

Romans 3:20

For no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sinful we are.

So as we saw two days ago, the law required the leprous to shout out: " I am unclean, I am unclean", this would let people know that they are not to interact with them. However, when Christ came their cry changed: "Master have mercy on us" was the new chant.

The same way, as we read, the law proclaimed that any woman with the issue of blood would be unclean and have no contact with people. However, when Christ came on the scene the woman said instead:

Matthew 9:20-22

Just then a woman who had suffered for twelve years with constant bleeding came up behind him. She touched the fringe of his robe,

for she thought, “If I can just touch his robe, I will be healed.”

Jesus turned around, and when he saw her he said, “Daughter, be encouraged! Your faith has made you well.” And the woman was healed at that moment.

When Christ comes on the scene He turns the situation around.

Glory to God!

Sin was what kept us in bondage but when Christ came, mercy met grace, and love took our place.

Glory to God.

That is why I love this song by Alvin Slaughter titled "mercy refused" the chorus goes thus:

"Mercy refused and love took my place

There on the cross where justice met grace

Mercy refused to let me die

Jesus the Lamb was crucified

Though rightfully death wanted me

Mercy refused"

Christ came to turn things around, to make the guilty become aqquited, to set the captive free, heal the pain and sicknesses, give hope that is assured and empower us with the Holy Spirit that we never have to walk alone.

Let us give God the glory today as we reflect on this great love, mercy and favour.

What a liberty, what a relief!

When the enemy and others say condemnation, Christ says "mercy"!

Are you going through any though times now, do you need help and relieve? Remember this:

Romans 8:32

Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?

That situation is too small for Him to handle, He will yet give you the victory.

Keep praying, keep trusting, study the word, worship, don't give up your victory is truly closer than you think. In the end you will come out triumphant and you will not regret the wait.

Christ turns things around.

Glory to God forevermore.

He calls us blessed.

Love
