DON'T DEFRAUD ONE ANOTHER

Leviticus 25:17

Show your fear of God by not taking advantage of each other. I am the Lord your God.

The nature of believers is that of humility and peace, a product of love and joy because of God's Spirit indwelling in us.

Another may want to take advantage of this godly nature to defraud a brethren. Woe unto them!

God warned the children Israel about this evil through Moses.

Leviticus 19:13

“Do not defraud or rob your neighbor.“Do not make your hired workers wait until the next day to receive their pay.

Christ warned against it too:

Mark 10:19

But to answer your question, you know the commandments: ‘You must not murder. You must not commit adultery. You must not steal. You must not testify falsely. You must not cheat anyone. Honor your father and mother.’”

We hear complains of a brethren defrauding another in one thing or the other. It was so even in the early church:

1 Corinthians 6:8,10

Instead, you yourselves are the ones who do wrong and cheat even your fellow believers.

or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people—none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God.

The repercussion is great! The risk of not inheriting the kingdom of God.

At the time of these actions the culprit would think that they are smart but they are actually the foolish ones.

Proverbs 9:16-18

“Come in with me,” she urges the simple.

To those who lack good judgment, she says,

“Stolen water is refreshing; food eaten in secret tastes the best!”

But little do they know that the dead are there.

Her guests are in the depths of the grave.

If only we could see how ugly those demons that bring these evil thoughts to us are, we will bind them away in the name of Jesus with much rage.

The truth is that a lot of things we fight, bind and cast out are not a problem at all. We concentrate on others, not knowing that the first battle to fight is actually ourselves!

Romans 8:12-13

Therefore, dear brothers and sisters, you have no obligation to do what your sinful nature urges you to do.

For if you live by its dictates, you will die. But if through the power of the Spirit you put to death the deeds of your sinful nature, you will live.

You cannot say I do not fornicate or commit adultery but I lie and cheat others, No. All must be done away with.

I cannot say, I do not steal or lie yet I hate, envy or keep malice with others. No. All must be done away with!

Colossians 3:5-10

So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world.

Because of these sins, the anger of God is coming.

You used to do these things when your life was still part of this world.

But now is the time to get rid of anger, rage, malicious behavior, slander, and dirty language.

Don’t lie to each other, for you have stripped off your old sinful nature and all its wicked deeds.

Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him.

We must get rid of all those heavy loads we carry that will not let us run the race before us.

Let it go!

PRAYER

Dear Heavenly Father take away every iota of sinful nature in me, whatever does not please You Lord let it not be found in me. I am Yours Lord, glorify Yourself in me. Make me Lord, that branch that bears fruit continually.

He calls us blessed.

Love
